UVM 2018 Offseason - A Punch to the Gutt

Re: UVM 2018 Offseason - A Punch to the Gutt

Didn't Martin's wife also graduate from UVM? That's where they met, right? Anyway, would love to have been a fly on the wall when the family was discussing schools. Would love to know the thinking on UVM and if it was ever in the mix.

Oh why are you guys worried St Louis will play for UVM

Sneddon burned one year last year and next year is yeR 2. He is clearly is Hockey East coach most on hot seat. Meanwhile while there are lots of excellent potential assistants in Hockey to vying for a Head Coach job. The hottest and most experienced is Jerry Keefe. He clearly wants a school who has good potential to succeed UVM meets that criteria, more so then Merromack who distanced self from. Keefe has already established a track record of taking his recruits with him—see Kevin Roy and the NU people said acton Reese. Keefe now has licked in the chip to separate him from the other candidates and to insure Sneddon is gone

Hey that is less bizarre then most conspiracy theories.

Quick shoutout to men's lacrosse who just advanced to the AE championship game, beating Stony Brook 8-4.

-Ian MacKay breaks the school record for career goals with 149
-The team broke the school record for wins in a season with 12

UVM @ CC Dec 7-8.

Seems like the Denver series I mentioned is for NEXT year, sorry for getting people's hopes up. So making a few assumptions, 7/10 of OOC has been filled:

2x @ CC
UAH at home (Catamount Cup)
RPI at home (Catamount Cup)
Quinnipiac at home

And assuming no changes...

1x vs SLU (probably at home)
Dartmouth at home (that game flips every year)

Women's team is revealing its final 5 players for this year's incoming class on Twitter this week. Men's team revealed in July last year. Wonder why there's such a big difference in timeframe?

Not meant to be a criticism of other, just general curiosity.

Thanks for the recap....
I think we would all like to forget most of last year, though.
Still excited for the new season....new hope.
I wonder what Sneddon will comment about the incoming players?
I assume we can copy/paste from any of the last few years names.....
Also looking forward to the schedule coming out.

Go Cats Go!

For the first time since 1970/71*, UVM will not be playing St. Lawrence.

* - Excluding 1999/2000 which was cancelled before the teams were able to compete.

Taking into account games from 2005 on (given you were in the same league prior to that), how much of that, do you suppose, was the relationship involving Joe Marsh? I recall a few other relationships between "old ECAC" and "new ECAC" that perpetuated beyond the schism, yet with changing of the guard behind the benches, are starting to die out.

I suspect you'll still play Dartmouth on account of proximity, given they're the closest D-I rink to you. There are quite a few of those non-conference agreements across the country, and I must say am very happy to see that.

We continued it through the Carvel era and the first two years of Morris, so I'm not sure Marsh had much of an effect. But I'm also a much newer fan so maybe someone who's been around can help me out.

Interesting that we're playing a Canadien-school exhibition after opening at Michigan.

Interesting that we're playing a Canadien-school exhibition after opening at Michigan.

It might be more interesting that we're playing at Michigan since we played two there last year and one at UVM the year before. Unless we're playing 2 at Gutterson next year it just doesn't make sense
