UVM 2018 Offseason - A Punch to the Gutt

Re: UVM 2018 Offseason - A Punch to the Gutt

It might be more interesting that we're playing at Michigan since we played two there last year and one at UVM the year before. Unless we're playing 2 at Gutterson next year it just doesn't make sense
Yeah, Michigan probably feels they're doing us a favor by playing us at all.

Sure it makes sense. Michigan has, in the past, paid all the expenses of the visiting team and perhaps an additional "honorarium" =>$5,000. They expect to make up the costs with ticket sales.

Sweet! And I was bad-mouthing them.... :)

Best of luck to him. Curious to see how we replace him. The easy route would be to just promote Patrick, but I think it'd be better to get someone from outside, esp. if Sneddon's seat is hot this year (and you've gotta think the Athletic Department is feeling some heat after extending him along with the women's basketball fiasco)

I feel like we've had some good recruiting classes, so this could hurt. Hope you're right about Sneddon being on a short leash. I'm making a concerted effort to stay positive and hope we have a solid season. If, however, we continue in a downward trajectory, I think UVM really needs to consider shaking things up.

Wallyworld gettin out before the head man gets the can! No shocker there guy only looking to save his own butt and telling everyone about his recruiting superpowers that have led to 7th 7th 9th 6th 9th since he's been here! Wow what talent too bad he and the others can't coach a lick either!! They cant promote Patrick he already has the same title both had associate head coach my guess is they just let Jeff Hill move up if they cant find anyone its going to be hard even though hockey East assistant jobs are rare not too many people gonna look at that situation and say they are confident they would have a job past next year if things go south!
Still probably Sneddyboy has a less than 20% chance of being fired no faith in Schulman to let his boy go. I do not know much about this womens basketball situation but I read in the papers and Schulman should have a lot of egg on his face for that one he is not off to a hot start here in his short time in charge!
Again saw no names being drafted among UVM recruits doesnt mean much look at Lowell over last 5 years moslty just remember that in case the people who say only a few teams get draft picks that Bentley got one and UVM didnt but it does say a lot about how kids who want to be true pros view the program!

Didn't remember that both were associate, but I guess Hill would be the logical successor if they promote from within.

Re: the WBB case, basically they investigated the coach they hired just two years ago for verbal conduct. He wound up resigning to take an assistant job at La Salle (which is closer to his hometown) and even though UVM didn't need to pay severance, they are. UVM discontinued the investigation and we have no idea if they found anything, and they've been very tight-lipped about it all.

Wallack to Albertus Magnus is officially official. Press conference there was today. Best of luck to him.

I know I've been a critic of the staff, but I think Wallack's actually not too bad, in terms of bringing in talent. I know the results didn't show it this year, but I'm still a believer that there's talent there, it just needs to be unleashed. (Not sure who he worked with as an assistant and what he focused on, so I can't say anything about tactics or development)

Agree, I think he did a pretty good job with recruiting. Plenty good enough for the team to be competitive. The fact that we haven’t played up to our potential is on Sneddon. Wouldn’t necessarily chacterize the move as abandoning a sinking ship. Sounds like a good opportunity and I wish him well.

I mean, look at last year's big name recruits Misley and Dzhioshvili. They showed in junior that they're really talented and they did have flashes this year, but I still do think the output they had was disappointing and I don't really blame either of them for it much (especially Vlad as he was injured much of the year).

I was just sent this via email on twitter.com looks like Colton is gone! https://twitter.com/TonyDee07/status/1011403536624734209
That is a NY Rangers player also from New Jersey like Colton would like to see someone else confirm but see the writing on the wall. Hilarious now when they put out a press release saying Colton was staying! I knew that was too good to be true and he would leave!
