UVM 2017/18: A Gutt Check

Re: UVM 2017/18: A Gutt Check

Real nice to win a game again. But I can't be the only one worried that Schulman drafted up an addendum to add more years on Sneddon's deal when the final horn sounded.

Re: UVM 2017/18: A Gutt Check

Much better level of effort across the board last night. Freshman D are looking a little less like freshman and there was good back checking by the forwards. Seemed like the lines are starting to build some chemistry too. Fewer 'whose got it' moments.

Bet the lines stay EXACTLY the same for Friday.....
Can only hope that the same effort comes out of the gate against the Mack in their tiny barn.

Go Cats Go!

I agree. Same lines and 60 minutes of effort.

I kinda want to see Colton on a line with Misley and Vlad. I feel those are our most talented players in terms of pure skill. I just see Colton having to sort of wait for his current linemates to catch up way too after. Even his breakaway goal...look at how he had to check his speed and wait for the pass. Biggest takeaway from last game...TAKE THE PUCK TO THE NET. No more endless cycling in the corners. Coughlin and Misley both took the puck directly to the net with great results.

I do think this weekend is a good time to utilize the speed this team has, we all know how Mack plays at Lawler and how they try to slow the game down.

Re: UVM 2017/18: A Gutt Check

I would not put all the fastest guys on one line. I think it works better with a digger, a set up guy and a scorer on each line.

Re: UVM 2017/18: A Gutt Check

I'm just ready for not-pretty hockey. Even if we were good this year, Merrimack at Lawler is ALWAYS tough, they do a good job of closing off the limited space on the smaller rink.

Although I'm going to women's hockey tonight (we're at home to Northeastern), so....bullet dodged for the night? lol

Colton goal was disgusting! Esposito hit him in stride this time too!

For how crap this season's been, Alex Esposito has been quite a pleasant surprise. Expected him to be a glue guy and he turned out to be one of our better players!

Great job cats. I feel a strong finish coming. Never give up, there is still time to show the doubters of your skill, talent and perseverance. It would have been easy to give up but success often comes from adversity. It takes grit and I think you have it, stick together.
