UVM 2016-2017 Season: Go Cats Go!

Re: UVM 2016-2017 Season: Go Cats Go!

Soccer team got hosed by a ref who clearly did all he could to help Virginia tie and win. 1989 all over again.

Bummer. Was out doing stuff today, so didn't see any of it except for the overtime. The announcers were saying UVM had to play 40 minutes of the game a man down. What happened?

Re: UVM 2016-2017 Season: Go Cats Go!

2nd yellow card to same player about 2 minutes after Vermont had taken the lead. Foul totals for game were 24-9. Ref
kept giving them direct kicks right outside the box and they finally hit on one. It was so bad the VT bench got carded in the
first half...ref didnt like being told how bad he was.

Re: UVM 2016-2017 Season: Go Cats Go!

Vermont must be a nightmare to match up with as there is no #1 line or a #4 for that matter.

Darrar and Colton lead with 8 pts but we have 2 with 7, 3 with 6 and 12 with between 3-5 points.

Hamilton lead by far in plus/minus with +12. I dare anyone to say they predicted that.

Saturday game will be a good test no matter which team they play, hope they dont look past Umass.

Don't think they'll be looking past UMass, as that game involves HE points, and is thus the more important matchup. Wouldn't have predicted the Hamilton +12, but I've always liked him.

Re: UVM 2016-2017 Season: Go Cats Go!

Both Hamilton and Abramson are completely different players (in a good way) this year.

Re: UVM 2016-2017 Season: Go Cats Go!

Vermont cuts Amherst's lead in half. Now 2-1 midway through the second. Let's go Vermont, beat Amherst!

And just like that it's tied, 2-2 at 8:25 in the second. Keep it up Vermont.

Far better written and researched than anything we see from the USCHO boys and the 2-3 paragraph reports
that dont say anything we dont already know.

But calling us the enemy is kinda harsh considering they only got into the ECAC because we left the spot open for them.

In light of the event name, I motion to make it "frienemy" ;)

Let's hope we don't get down 2-0 this afternoon. It's been a recurring theme this season, and although for the most part we've been able to dig out of these holes, we'd be pressing our luck against a team as good as Q'Pac.

Lol. It's called scouting the enemy for every team we play even non conference games. Thanks for the compliment.

For a team playing many young players they have shown a great ability to not panic and stick with the gameplan when they have bad or unlucky start. And so far the Cats have been in every game this year even the loses to UML were not decided until late in the third.

The next 3 games will go along way to show if we are a middle of the pack team playing to its high end or if this is another one of those special teams that can make a run. The difference here unlike those teams in the past that relied on a couple of superstars this team doesn't have any one player it cant live without. Not sure if thats a good thing like it sounds like, while you are not as effected by a key injury as you are with stars does this team have someone to go to in a tie game late to make the big play?
