Utica University 2025-26 - The Road (back) To Utica

Also two fun facts because I was curious:

Utica's last regular season loss to a team not ranked or receiving votes in the USCHO poll - 11/23/19 vs Elmira

Utica's record post-holiday break (regular season and conference tournament) since COVID - 66-2-1


So yes, anyone that overestimates early season results against teams you'll inevitably see in March doesn't know ball
 
Well no having 5 regular season losses is a death sentence to most teams at large hopes in that past unless they were in a strong league. Everyone was right to write off Utica at the time. But as one of you pointed out Utica has one of the strongest schedules in the entire NPI. While Hobart Adrian and Oswego help that out, that's only 5 games total and the old UCHC used to draaaaag the SOS down substantially. Huge credit has to go to the rest of the new UCHC as 2/3rds of the conference are in the top 40 of the NPI. Only the NESCAC has a higher % of teams. It's entirely possible the UCHC might be 3rd best league in country, ahead of the CNE, which no one thought before the season started. Congrsts to the league as a whole for surpassing expectations and making a lot of us look dumb.

Another 6 points though, and with other results around the conference, Utica just needs to finish 6-2 down the stretch to clinch the #1 seed in the UCHC

Any home playoff game for UU is a sure-fire sellout, but with that field..?

Forget about getting a ticket unless you know somebody. Might be the first time scalpers have ever worked a D-3 hockey venue.

You can always tell the who the noobs are since they have no recollection of the frozen four being played in an on-campus rink with 2,000 seats or less. Tickets always hard to come by if not impossible in Northfield the years Wick and Midd were both in it.

Alas, I forget that D3 hockey really didn't start until Utica started their team.

EDIT: I also forgot tickets in 2019 in Point were impossible. I guess Fishy can be excused, all that time during covid when he was pretending to be a doctor probably cooked his cabeza.
