yes and then they added more transfers in the middle of the season, the rich got richer.....At the beginning of the season, I heard from an opposing coach that he was very afraid of Utica.

Herbert couldn't have been that good I scored a double OT goal against him in the ECAC semi-finals, and I wasn't that goodYa think? I don't remember any D-3 goalie ever doing that, but I tend to forget shit on occasion.
I do think that he'd garner a lot of interest among the lesser D-1 programs, just the same.
In a similar vein, anybody see Beaver getting a shot at The Show, a la Herbert decades ago? (As in, an AHL tryout.)
Selleck from Oswego ...left after sophomore yr and went to. the Florida org.think he played a few games there then had a pretty good AHL career..Tom Aubrun (Norwich) signed a deal with an AHL team (Blackhawks organization) right out of college. He played in a couple games, but mainly settled into the ECHL team for a couple years before returning back to Europe to play out his career.
D3 to NHL isn’t unheard of. Norwich had 3 players get to the NHL. Someone used to have a list somewhere. It was a long time ago but I think it had 20-25 names on it and I’m unsure how many more of have been added recently. There have been a couple of EBug goalies that played D3 that have ended up suiting up for NHL teams in recent years.
He must have been hungover that day...Herbert couldn't have been that good I scored a double OT goal against him in the ECAC semi-finals, and I wasn't that good![]()
So Utica is the logical choice then...This. There was no reason to leave Curry with a very likable coach and being king of the hill to go to another D3 school. He's got to be going D1.
I'll bite...who do you think got snubbed?Utica with zero players on the All USCHO teams or honorable mentions. Hobart, St Norbert, Aurora with FOUR players each, Hamilton THREE, Curry and Geneseo TWO each. Utica with none, bizarre. Meaningless awards, but good to see the Utica hate is still alive and well.
Breault and Scoville to not even make the honorable mention list is laughable.I'll bite...who do you think got snubbed?
Agree, both are deserving. I don't really look at this AA stuff, it is so difficult to assess in D3, but I didn't realize there was hate for Utica, I thought it was just for THE COOLERBreault and Scoville to not even make the honorable mention list is laughable.
Check out the DIII Hockey News awards then.Breault and Scoville to not even make the honorable mention list is laughable.
Not as familiar with Breault, but I agree with you on Scoville. Every time I tuned in to a Utica game that kid impressed me. Definitely had an amazing tourney…but decisions may have already been made by then?Breault and Scoville to not even make the honorable mention list is laughable.
Breault 1st team and Scoville 2nd team from the outlet that actually watches and follows D3. What a blunder from USCHO.Check out the DIII Hockey News awards then.
Pretty aggressive slap in the face to Tim Costello and Russell Jaslow who have been following and covering Division III hockey since before USCHO even existed.Breault 1st team and Scoville 2nd team from the outlet that actually watches and follows D3. What a blunder from USCHO.
You are right that at the end of the day it doesn’t matter. Although it still doesn’t make much sense.Pretty aggressive slap in the face to Tim Costello and Russell Jaslow who have been following and covering Division III hockey since before USCHO even existed.
It's also 1 or 2 people's opinions between both outlets. Honestly, who cares? The All-American selections are done through the coaches and take into account a lot bigger sample size of people from across D-III hockey.
Kyle Jones got one back in the day tooYa think? I don't remember any D-3 goalie ever doing that, but I tend to forget shit on occasion.
I do think that he'd garner a lot of interest among the lesser D-1 programs, just the same.

I have nothing to do with the USCHO awards.Pretty aggressive slap in the face to Tim Costello and Russell Jaslow who have been following and covering Division III hockey since before USCHO even existed.
