Utica College

There is clearly no point in commenting on D-3 hockey this year, but UC is looking as good or better as it did last year.

Sadly, it won't matter.

The Utica-Elmira suspended game from 3/6 is scheduled to be completed Tues 3/23 at Elmira.

So, just booted up the Chromebook only to find that the Leb Valley game was cancelled. I would have to assume Covid, but there's nothing on the UC site as of now. My guess is that YOU know... (And thanks.)

I was thinking about checking on the game when I saw your post. It appears that LVC has issues as they have postponed tonight's game and games on Friday and Sunday at Manhatanville. UC is still scheduled for a Saturday game at Neumann.

Other than that, I know nothing..........lol

Thanks to UCB for the response.

The UCHC site is of no help whatsoever; basically a dead link. I was wondering how the conference was planning to deal with the cancellations, but it's dead at the switch, as per usual.

Just frustrated, Shabby.

UC was a legit NC contender last season, and would have been again this one. Makes me crazy to waste all this talent, but there's plenty of that going around.

Aren't they contenders this year also ? I'm confused, aren't they having D3 NCAA'S ?

What a bummer ! Do the kids get an extra year of eligibility ?

Yes, all DIII athletes get a extra year of eligibility (actually, if I understand correctly, the 20-21 year will not count as a year of eligibility used, and athletes are given a 6th year to complete their 4 years of eligibility). And, unlike DI, spring sports are also included. However, I wonder just how many will opt to stay another year.

At least 3 of the 5 will stay

Stinks the board was down last night....

One heck of a game at the Aud. I watched the entire overtime session and Utica clearly had the better of the play through most of the first and second OT. Elmira battled back a bit in the third I thought and eventually ended up perservering to get the winner. What an effort by Jansen in goal for Elmira.

I was very impressed with a few of the young Elmira players. Shawn Kennedy in particular stood out to me. They are going to be a talented team and welcome addition to the NEHC next year! Jansen graduates, but they return a lot of skaters!

So....if Elmira wins on Monday, will they leave the trophy at center ice?
