Utica College Pioneers 2012-13 Season (Part Two)

Re: Utica College Pioneers 2012-13 Season (Part Two)

The games will not be broadcast on TV anywhere. The only way to watch it is via webstream at ncaa.com.

That's really a shame... Seems that the FF would be appropriate fodder for ESPNU or something. (God knows they show a ton of obscure sports as it is.)

I wonder if any of you know if ncaa.com will archive the streams for later-in-the-day viewing..? They've done that for FCS football playoffs, other fringe-sports and you can still dig-up any ancient D-1 basketball final that you care to, right now.

It's looking more and more like I'll be working during the games, and it's highly unlikely that I'll be able to watch them in real time. (S#%&!!!)

Hmmmm , Utica, I could see that.

It's a reasonable location for sure, and The Aud has hosted a D-1 FF in the past, but they'll need to do something about that so-called "ice"... It would be a embarrassment to hold the championships there in March, if the conditions were anything like what they were on Saturday..

The 1962 Frozen Four was at the "Aud".

Don't worry, the AHL investors are going to make sure that the HVAC and refrigeration are upgraded to 21st century standards along with the addition of those sky boxes. Of course thats right after the city and county guarantee those 4000 season tickets.....:rolleyes:

Also, Saturdays game was the first I recall the Utica crowd actually cheering and chanting before the Pioneers scored or got into a shoving match on the ice. The "lets go UC" was awesome to hear. Made me feel like I was at a real college hockey game.

Agree. Even the UC chant at the end was really deafening in the arena. MUCH better then the past times ive been at the Aud. Reminded me a lot of the old 3, 500 + days at the Stafford. One small pet peve tho. I understand the whole "you #$@!" after a goal, but when your team scores an empty next goal is it really necessary to turn your face nearly purple yelling at the goalie? The whole "you're not a black whole" thing is funny, and maybe it was because everyone was spread out, but its almost inaudible. Still think the UC defense will need to step up even more this weekend. Offensively however UC is a treat to watch. This whole "minor hockey" breakout critique is commical. Seems to be working just fine. I still want that OSU-UC championship.

Do we really think Oswego is going to beat Norwich? I just can't see it.

Oswego is a great team, and can beat ANYBODY if they play their game right and force a bounce or two to go their way. Yes, even Utica. That said, the same can be said for both Norwich and Utica. If you "just can't see it", perhaps it's time to get your eyesight checked? :D

If Utica plays like they did for the first 40 minutes against Bowdoin im not sure they will have the CHANCE to play either team. If they play like they did in the third, it will be party time in Utica..... Oh say can UC!

Oswego is a lot like to Miami Heat. All this talent it just took a bit to get going. The team defense they've been playing lately will make it hard for anyone to beat. Hare has to be on his game. It really seemed as in the middle of the season Oswego was just going through the motion. The SUNYAC Finals was probably the best team defense I've seen Oswego play in years. If they work that hard they can and will beat anyone.

Either way it should be three really good games .....
Im just not sold on Norwich.

A tight checking game favors Norwich. A Run and Gun game favors Oswego. Who imposes his will upon the other?
Has there been a semi in recent memory that has been this fascinating? I know I am biased here, but man, this game can't come fast enough...sincerely hope both teams bring it - really bring it to live up to (our) hype.....

I heard both coaches agreed to just settle it with a 5-man shoot out.

Re: Utica College Pioneers 2012-13 Season (Part Two)

we now apparently have three Norwich-Oswego threads.

I don't object to that, however i am quite entertained:)

Thank you. The previous post was really comical to me. Again what you said makes me further hold my high respect for Platty fans.

Anybody who leaves their A game in the locker room will return empty handed. I completely agree that all of the teams have proven that they deserve to be in LP and any can get the 2 wins. Remember that the guy who is now Pope had a 4/1 betting line on him and won over two others who were each 3/1!

The 4/1 in that image was for Cardinal Bertone, not Cardinal Bergoglio... The man who became Pope had MUCH worse odds. 25/1 according to William Hill Plc. Betting company. Which just reinforces your point, of course ;)
