USCHO Women's Hockey Posters Poll

More of an overreaction, I'd say.
This time of year, we tend to rank teams based on what they lost. Once the games start, then we remember that the most important factor is the players that are actually suited up.

1. Wisconsin
2. Minnesota
3. Harvard
4. Boston College
5. Cornell
6. BU
7. Northeastern
8. Mercyhurst
9. North Dakota
10. MN Duluth

I know BC didn't lose anyone...except Miller - and well, the more I think about the uncertainty in goal the more I worry about their success.

No Kessel, no Minny

1. Clarkson :D :D :D

3. Basten College
4. Hahvad - Pucci
5. Cornell
6. Minnesota Duluth
7. Basten University
8. North Dakota - Tapani
9. Northeastern
10. Mercyhurst

Now that I've had my fun I still like Minny so no change at the top. Now I think Minny may actually lose 3 or 4 Regular Season games.

Re: USCHO Women's Hockey Posters Poll

Agree...come on who are you kidding…although the loss of Kessel is huge and I believe they are as vulnerable as anytime in the past four years…no way does it justify a change. Why you ask….Brandt, Cameranesi Bona, Menafee, Lorance, Ramsey, McMillen, Stecklin, Leveille,…not to mention arguably the best freshman class in the country…so please.

Kinda puts a damper on the sandbagging bit...

1) Minnesota
2) Boston College
3) Wisconsin
4) Harvard

Gap

5) Cornell
6) Clarkson
7) Boston University
8) North Dakota
9) Quinnipiac.
10) UMD

Dropped Mercyhurst based on ARM's input and dropped NoDak by 1. UMD gets the open spot due to peer pressure. No adjustment to the top 4 despite the loss of Kessel and Pucci because all these teams have a lot of depth and BC have yet to show they can win all the games they should.

Astute observations all around. ;)

Dropped Mercyhurst based on ARM's input ...
I don't really know what to expect from Mercyhurst, because the Lakers did manage to make the Frozen Four in back-to-back seasons despite not having a roster that grabbed that much attention. Now their best player has graduated, but that doesn't mean that Mike Sisti doesn't have a future star arriving to replace her. It's a safe bet that by the end of the season, some team from the CHA will be in the top 10 rankings. This is the first year that I can remember where it could possibly be any of three teams from the league, not a slam dunk for the Lakers.

Maybe time for a new thread when the poll gets posted?
