Re: USCHO Poster's Poll: '18-19'

1. Wisconsin - saw them first hand this past weekend, they have no obvious weaknesses and will be a tough out for the rest of women’s hockey this season
2. Clarkson - I hate to move the 2 time defending champs down a spot without them losing but at this point I believe Wisco beats them if they play tomorrow
3. Minnesota - very good but a level below Wisconsin
4. UMD - 2-3-1 vs preseason numbers 2, 3 & 4 to start the season isn’t all that bad
5. Ohio St - may be better than UMD but they haven’t played Any of the top 5 yet so we don’t know
6. BC - struggled with SLU. Need to pull it together sooner than later
7. Cornell - I like their lineup a lot
8. Providence - will give BC a run for their money
9. SLU - 2 very close losses at BC show they are very good
10. UCONN - this spot could go to at least 3 other teams at this point

Except for 1 screw up a weekend where they score on themselves or have a goofy comedy of errors that leads to a tap in for the opponent. I suppose they are trying to make the games seem more close so they can keep under the Clarkson radar.

I wouldn't really say BC struggled with SLU. They kicked SLU's ***, but couldn't find the back of the net.
The BC offense looked like Wisconsin at crucial points over recent seasons: a lot of territorial advantage with no finish. The Eagles' defense, however, was the greater concern. Had SLU finished its prime chances, you'd have been less happy with the weekend, particularly on Thursday. BC will win many games; will it learn any lessons?

I thought BC looked a lot like they did a couple years ago, it might have been the undefeated season, where they killed it on possession but scoring was just frustratingly difficult. Those transition goals we got last year came in bunches, because weren't camped out in our own end, and had a much higher shot percentage coming in on a rush.

Figuring out how to score on these teams that just play this 6-goalie thing was a year-long struggle then, too. We took a lot of point shots looking for deflections that year, that seemed to work pretty well. We have the players to do that sort of thing again too if we want to go down that road.

I don't know, it's a long season, if they're dominating in possession and trying to figure out how to score then that'll be a nice change from last season where we struggled getting out of our own end at times.

Re: USCHO Poster's Poll: '18-19'

1. Clarkson - Golden Knights...Fighting nurses...Whatever you call them they just win.
2. Wisconsin - For the 3rd year in a row they are the most talented team...On paper.
3. Minnesota - No doubt about their talent...But is that enough?
4. Ohio State - 5 wins in 6 games...I guess they are still sneaking up on people.
5. UMD - 2 wins in 6 games...Enough to get you the 5th spot?
6. bc - If they could perfect that "stunned goat" mind control thingy, watch out.
7. Cornell - Made Buffalo the Uglies so they got that going for them
8. Providence - The Friars being here is more about what a cluster you know what the bottom of this poll is.
9. Northeastern - Probably better than Colgate but then again, maybe not.
10. Colgate - Have they had a players only team meeting yet?
