USCHO Poster's Poll: '18-19'

Re: USCHO Poster's Poll: '18-19'

The "what's up with that" themed top ten...

1. Clarkson - They have been outshot in 3 of the 4 games they have played against lesser opponents...What's up with that?
2. Wisconsin - Kristen Campbell has a .894 save percentage through 4 games against Lindenwood and Mercyhurst...What's up with that?
3. Minnesota - Brad Frost didn't get a commitment from a 7th grader last week...What's up with that?
4. UMD - Got badly outshot by Minnesota after putting the clamps on bc the previous weekend...What's up with that?
5. Ohio State - Going 3-1 against ECAC teams without Sauve...What's up with that?
6. bc - Only put up 5 goals against their first cupcake of the season...Watt's up with that?
7. Cornell - Ranking an unknown...What's up with that? ;)
8. Providence - Beating up on a supposedly decent WCHA foe...What's up with that?
9. Colgate - 2-2 so far with their roster...What's up with that?
10. Maine - Black Bears might actually be good...What's up with that?

.......

1) They miss Savannah Harmon on defense.
2) They miss the 3 graduated forwards that scored very little but played good defense.
3) They miss the play of senior forward Rhyne McGill who was spotted on crutches this weekend.

Re: USCHO Poster's Poll: '18-19'

1. Clarkson - still the 2-time defending champs (#1 til someone beats them)
2. Wisconsin - the team I think is truly the best team in the country
3. Minnesota - showed some separation between them and UMD last weekend
4. UMD - continue their brutal start to the season this coming weekend with a trip to Wisconsin (started with BC and home, then the Gophers at home, now at Wisco (and for good measure they play 2 at Clarkson over Thanksgiving weekend))
5. Ohio St - haven't skipped a beat without Sauve
6. BC - I'm sure they are ecstatic to have Lonergan back!

7. Cornell - guessing a bit here
8. Providence - sweeping Bemidji is a strong start to the season
9. St. Lawrence - need to find a way to put more pucks in the net (let's see how they stack up at BC Thu/Fri this week)
10. Colgate - better than 2-2

Put them at 7 and bump down the rest... thanks. I know you like conversations with you, but thought maybe I could also talk to you. :D

I am not really joking, Maine freshmen class is better than I think a lot of people thought they were.

She is out for the year with hip surgery, similar to what Sauve and Cianfarano had according to a source on the Clarkson Hockey Roundtable. Bummer

Torn hip labrum seems to be a common hockey injury - mostly goalies but a few skaters too. A few others that come to mind that have had surgery: Makela (G, Mercyhurst), Janiga (F, Mercyhurst), Convery x 2 (G, Mercyhurst), McDonell (G, Mercyhurst), and another skater who is playing "through it". If this is just one team's experience there must be a lot more that we just haven't heard about.
