Timothy A, trying to understand your rationale here. So last week you pick UM at #1, and then UM has a bye weekend and UW sweeps a weak opponent (no offense Mavs), and suddenly UW is back on top. What gives ? :)

Hockeyhub, are you saying Tim's rationale is irrational? Or his consistency lacks consistency? ;)
Seriously, against Mankato the Badgers did look like a No. 1 team, and I can see why he switched them with Minnesota. We'll get a better read on whether his rationale was rational when the Mavs visit Ridder this weekend.

I think we'll get an even better read when UW plays in Duluth. If Bucky smokes the same 'pups that give the Gophs all they can handle, then there you go.

Excellent question and I don't mind it at all, I enjoy the discussions, that's why I am here. It was close between the 2, but my eyes saw a completely dominate weekend performance, though it was Mankato. They held Mankato to 1 or 2 shots on goal for 3 periods, that is unheard of. They never took a shift off and their pace was top gear all 6 periods. They did get a little leaky with 3 breakaways allowed, and secretly I am slightly concerned about the goaltending, but I just couldn't ignore what my eyes saw. If UW didn't play as well as they did, and I wasn't sure what to expect after going 5-3 over the last 8, I was ready to have UW be 2 or even lower of they looked like garbage (by UW standards) against Mankato. To me, the eye test is the most important evaluation tool I have. I was lucky to see Princeton twice early in the year and they were very impressive, so I have been ranking them higher than most all year.

Re: USCHO Poster's Poll: '18-19'

Probably just a coincidence that the theme for the poll this week is "beans"

1. Minnesota - Went on a fast this week so no beans for them
2. Wisconsin - Thought they were feasting on navy beans...Turn out they were purple.
3. Northeastern - Had their beans baked by bc
4. Clarkson - Toothpaste made their beans taste funny
5. Princeton - Their beans were brown and gray...They devoured them anyway.
6. Cornell - Probably would like some refried beans after this weekend.
7. BU - They won...You guessed it, a pot of beans.
8. bc They got some satisfaction but it doesn't amount to a hill of beans in the pairwise
9. Colgate - Their prize? Of course green bean casserole.
10. Ohio State. After bean disappointed on Friday, had 5-bean salad for senior day

Re: USCHO Poster's Poll: '18-19'

I think 3-8 are all pretty interchangeable. It all depends which teams (and which teams' opponents) show up for their games on any given weekend. All of the conference tournaments are setting up to be very interesting this year...

1 Wisconsin
2 Minnesota
3 Princeton
4 Northeastern
5 Cornell
6 Boston University
7 Boston College
8 Clarkson
9 Colgate
10 Ohio State
