Re: USCHO Poster's Poll: '16-'17

1) Wisconsin - With how things have taken shape, anything less than a National Championship will be a major disappointment for this squad and it's supporters.
2) UMD - In a one and done, they probably have the best chance of causing major disapointment to the red menace.
3) St Lawrence - SLU is the best of the rest after the first two which is the glass half full view.
4) BC - Wait, what? Connecticut didn't get the memo that they are supposed to be a cupcake?
5) Clarkson - The tie with Harvard over the weekend is a whiskey-tango-foxtrot moment for this team.
6) Minnesota - This team has the top ranked penalty kill, the top ranked power play, and the nation's leading scorer. Crazy stats for a team that can look as vulnerable as they do.
7) Cornell - In the turnstile that is 7th place, Cornell takes their turn this week.
8) Quinnipiac - They did Saturday what Princeton couldn't do on Friday by beating Yale.
9) Princeton - They took their Friday frustrations out on a color Saturday. Needless to say, the color didn't put up much resistance.
10) Northeastern - Bobby Mo's 3-2-1 record in the last 6 games allows Northeastern to sneak in here.

Re: USCHO Poster's Poll: '16-'17

1 Wisconsin - easy choice
2 Minnesota Duluth - ditto
3 Clarkson - i won't punish them for the Harvard tie... it happens
4 Minnesota - makes sense to me
5 St Lawrence - ditto
6 Boston College - ditto
7 Quinnipiac - it's what i think
8 Princeton - ditto (you could argue at 7 or 9)
9 Cornell - ditto (ditto 7 or 8)
10 idk - flipping coin... winner is.... ugh.... can't flip coin... spinning wheel... that's stupid... what do i do?.... ok.... Robert Morris

Re: USCHO Poster's Poll: '16-'17

1) Wisconsin - After a close first game opened up a can of you know what on a short-handed, out of gas team.
2) UMD - You can rationalize the circumstances of getting drubbed 8 to doughnut but nevertheless big sister is showing some signs of life.
3) UM - There is a lot of talent on this squad that has been dormant for much of the season. No time like the present to come out of hibernation.
4) Clarkson - Strong weekend moves them slightly ahead of SLU.
5) St Lawrence - Blew a chance to move to the number 2 slot with their tie and loss.
6) BC - Another short-handed squad that is still a bit on the outside looking in. Needs more cupcakes.
7) Cornell - Did just enough to warrant hanging on the 7th
8) Princeton - Win over SLU puts them here
9) Quinnipiac - Two more very tight low scoring games...It's what they do.
10) Northeastern - Win at BC helps solidify them at the 10th spot

1 Wisconsin - 1-1 Shootout win and 8-0 win against #2 keep them a solid #1
2 Minnesota Duluth - Game 1 they missed Stadler and Mrazova, Probably ran out of petrol in game 2
3 Minnesota - Have the goal scorers awakened from their season long slumber
4 Clarkson - Missing their #1 center Pezjlova, they use defense and goaltending to get 2 wins
5 Boston College - Loss to Northeastern moves them down a notch
6 St. Lawrence - loss to Prinny and tie to Quinny hurts
7 Cornell - tie against Yale hurts
8 Princeton - Played Clarkson tough and come from 2 goals down on the road to beat SLU by 2 moves them up
9 Robert Morris - They won but against what competition
10 Northeastern - Beat BC without Krizova gets them in

Others

Quinnipiac
North Dakota
Colgate

Why Quinny and Colgate and not Princeton for either one? Just curious.

To me, Neatby taking over in the nets makes makes Princeton mucho better on the back end.
In the last month she has been hands down the best goalie in the ECAC.
With Bullock, Contini, Tucker and Lund at Forward and Koelzer on D giving them scoring punch (ask SLU) , they are the team I would not want to face in either the Quarter finals or Semi Finals if I want to get to the finals. With one weekend left in the ECAC season it is looking most likely to be in the quarter-finals:

1) Clarkson vs RPI or Harvard
2) SLU vs Yale
3) Cornell vs Quinny
4) Tossup whether it is Colgate vs Prinny or vice versa.

You could make an argument for about 8 teams to fill those last few spots... you made a pretty good one for Princeton. They were probably my next one in. They're all wicked close. I'm really throwing darts at this point lol

Re: USCHO Poster's Poll: '16-'17

I only had to flip Princeton and Quinny from last week. End of season and I'm finally getting the hang of this.

1 Wisconsin
2 Minnesota Duluth
3 Clarkson
4 Minnesota
5 St Lawrence
6 Boston College
7 Princeton
8 Quinnipiac
9 Cornell
10 Robert Morris

yes, it looks like Cornell, Colgate, Princeton, Quinnipiac, and even Northeasternan, BostonUniversity, and NorthDakota have a shot at the last spot. And UMD, Minnesota, StLawrence,, Boston College And Clarkson are all in a dogfight for the three hosting spots.

SLU and Clarkson need to keep winning or run the risk of not qualifing at all for the NC$$ Tourney especially if there is an upset winner in the ECAC (Colgate, Quinny or Prinny), CHA (Syr) and HE (NE or BU). I look at the ECAC in particular because there is not much difference between CCT, SLU, Cornell, Quinny, Prinny or Colgate. You could run that tournament 5 times and get 5 different winners.
