Re: USCHO Music Thread: Less Talk, More Rock

Congrats to John Legend who became the youngest ever to win (earn?) an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award.

What do you do for an encore??

Re: USCHO Music Thread: Less Talk, More Rock

My only disappointment is that it was a two-hour set.

If Paul McCartney can get out there at 74 and do a three-hour set...

I really can’t say enough about it though. She used ALL of US Bank Stadium. Plus the coordinated NFC wristbands were an incredible touch.

What's an NFC wristband?

Also, when getting into work on Friday 8/31, I saw her 6 trailers parked along 4th St S.. And then there were the dozen or so police, sheriff and state patrol vehicles intermingled with them. I knew it was going to be a ****show when leaving the office that evening. Sure enough, I was proved right.

Near-field communication. Google Pixmob.

Pretty cool stuff.

If you want a good example of Amy Winehouse "clean," listen to Frank, her debut album. "Back to Black" was basically "I'm drunk, I'm lonely, and you're gonna know about it."

Second youngest, Robert Lopez was younger when he completed his, winning an Oscar for “Let It Go”.

Fun fact, Robert Lopez won a Tony for Avenue Q. So the guy who wrote “Let It Go” also wrote “The Internet Is For Porn”.

Re: USCHO Music Thread: Less Talk, More Rock

Also Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice completed their EGOTs.

Remember Limewire? That was like having unsafe sex with the internet. Yes, give your computer AIDS just for free music.

It wasn't bad at all, at first. It was not paid attention to, until the others shut down.

Frou Frou: Details

Yes, it has "Let Go" from the Garden State soundtrack, but it's a solid album. Not only are we listening to "upbeat and calming" at Out On the Lakeshore, my tastes have generally shifted to the same thing. For this time in my life, I need it.

Checking out female singer-songwriters on Spotify.

Dunno if they are songwriters, but Brandi Carlile, Margo Price, Jain, and Alice Merton are all awesome from what I've heard from them. Also, the obvious Janelle Monae.

Re: USCHO Music Thread: Less Talk, More Rock
