MN Public Radio had an "Iconic Vocalist" March Madness. Very interesting. Listeners voted on the matchups, 2 songs by each artist in a row, then you voted for the next half hour. One PEEVE: Prince topped Aretha. How in God's name did that happen, you idiots? Thankfully, Freddie Mercury won the title. Personal note, Janis somehow made the top 4.

Note: Freddie had to topple Sinatra. That was a sick, sick matchup. Link to the bracket:

It was based not just on actual voice, but uniqueness, style, etc. Otherwise Dylan would not be considered, either. ;) I mean, Janis can wail like very few can.

It's old, but was out of ideas, and dialed up the Dan Band Bravo special on youtube. Worth it. So worth it.

The whole cultural appropriation thing is stupid, but the cover is terrible.
