Re: USCHO Music Thread 3: They Heard Me Singing

The first POTUSA album is still good.

PJ is hard for me because Ten is really good, but outside of a couple tracks Vs. sucks. Vitalogy is solid though.

PJ's greatest hits go well past Ten including several from Yield and Vs. has Go, Animal, Elderly Woman..., Daughter, Dissident, Rearviewmirror and Glorified G so not sure how that can be considered to suck.

I say "suck" from my point of view. I only liked "Daughter" and "Elderly Woman..." from that album.

Elderly is an underrated song, IMO. Rearviewmirror I grew to love very much, it's one of those songs that I didn't like at first at all. I dunno why.

Bloodhound Gang: "A Lap Dance Is So Much Better When The Stripper Is Crying"

The Gant Hall RD told me about this song, my best friend in college sent me this song, and later, Brent encouraged me to listen to it some more.

It is a classic tasteless novelty song. Now, I honestly like their other music. Their plays on words are great.

Wu-Tang Clan: "Gravel Pit"

In terms of the Wu, definitely want "36 Chambers," definitely want "Forever," and maybe their Greatest Hits.

Their greatest hits is obviously a good one.

Also get ODB's "Return To The 36 Chambers" and "N**** Please" albums, and the Gravediggaz' "6 Feet Deep" (which features RZA)

Re: USCHO Music Thread 3: They Heard Me Singing

ODB never did it for me. He was a character for sure but not a great rapper and his lyrics? 36 Chambers was fine but meh.

Not...a...great...rapper....you lost me. He was just so off the wall with his lyrics and oftentimes with his cadence, but he made it work. It was basically freestyle at its best, IMO.

For actual traditional talent, RZA was the best to come out of the Clan, IMO.
