Kasabian - Velociraptor! & West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

Rush - Signals & Moving Pictures

Dang, if Red Barchetta didn't take me right back...

EDIT: Walk into the lunchroom here at work and whatever streaming music that is in the building is playing Fly By Night. Must be Rush day!

Now hearing Grace Under Pressure. Still remember who I was with and where I first heard this album. Was between freshman & sophomore years in high school (1984) and was riding with friends from our lake and blasting it and driving through the north woods as the senior driver was a huge Rush fan. Felt pretty cool getting to hang with the older kids. :)

New Church released today. The Outsiders. I pre-ordered 3 or 4 months ago, so I'm hoping it is on my porch when I get home from work.

I read this and thought, "The Church" don't have a new CD out yet. I was right. :(

Although to be fair, knowing they will record without Marty Willson-Piper doesn't excite me much.

Arctic Monkeys - AM. Perhaps the best alternative record start to finish since at least Interpol's Turn Out The Bright Lights or BRMC's Baby 81. Just fantastic.

Haven't listened to Dr. Didg in a couple of years...

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

Over the past few days have delved into U2's studio catalogue.

Typically (almost always), I listen to concerts when I do U2. Was fun to go back and hear the stuff (studio) as I first heard it all those years ago.

Did:

The Joshua Tree
October
No line on the Horizon
The Unforgettable Fire
Wide Awake in America
War
Zooropa
Achtung Baby

EDIT:
Rattle & Hum
The Joshua Tree (Bonus Disc)
Pop

Hearing Pop now. I hated this album (and Bono - what a pompous doosh at the time) when it came out. I've actually grown to really appreciate it over the years. Some really great songs on here.

REM - 4/10/84 Eindhoven

Nice show from my favorite era/album (Reckoning) of the band.

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

So... after the REM show, I did a Kinks show from 12/31/80. One of the songs they did was "Where Have all the Good Times Gone" which reminded me that I haven't listened to Van Halen in quite a bit.

So now I'm doing:

Van Halen 1 & 2, Women & Children and Diver Down on shuffle.

Happy Friday! :D

PS The Kinks show was killer btw. They were a good live band for sure.

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

So far today:

Arctic Monkeys - 9/10/13 Belgium

Dub Pistols - Rum and Coke

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

Midnite - Ainshant Maps, Children of Jah Dubs, Intense Pressure, Lion out of Zion, Ras Mek Peace & Unpolished all on shuffle.

Roots reggae band from St. Croix. Super chill and mellow reggae/dub. Not afraid to get into a groove and just linger there.

:)

Re: USCHO Music Thread 2: Rock On, Amigo.

Well. It's been a bit.

I'm on a huge Anathema kick. This is from the "We're Here Because We're Here" album, live off last year's "Universal" DVD.

In other news, my metal band has fully formed and announced, featuring current and former members of Shadows Fall, Unearth, Seemless and a bunch of bands you squares ( :) ) have never heard of. We released a lyric video of one of the songs we have pre-produced, and are recording it properly for release right now.

3. "Love Is The End"- Keane
4. "We Will Meet Again"- VAST
