Well, it is off to =955&cHash=3b440c751d] Budapest, Hungary for the 2014 Worlds. Apparently none of the "superpowers" stepped up to make a bid. The dates are March 23-30.

Here is the exact location of the rink...kinda out in a park like setting in the burbs.

Budapest apparently has the largest outdoor rink in Europe: http://budapestchristmas.com/budapest-outdoor-ice-rink-in-the-city-park

I haven't been there since I was InterRailing 23 years ago. Would love to go back. Probably not for this though.

USA Hocky Nationals start April 2, 2014. Some district playoffs might be that week.

I haven't been there since I was InterRailing 23 years ago. Would love to go back. Probably not for this though.

City's like Prague and Budapest are wonderful places to visit, laden with history. When I was young those places were off limits during the height of the cold war. Not that long ago (1956 and 1968) the Soviets came in and oppressed any movement for more democracy with tanks and the Army. My parents lived through this era. How times have changed.

Fortunately for the Massachusetts girls the Nationals are in Marlborough Ma.
