Tough to do it, but I was a MSU/Wisconsin/Ohio St fan for one night at least. Congrats to those guys, well done. (And Rafalski is from my local neighborhood and is a Wing. Can't be all bad.)

If my math is correct, if Sweden wins by less than 5 goals, the U.S. will get the #1 seed and Sweden will be #2. That means Sweden, Russia, and Canada on the same side of the bracket. So much for everyone's Gold-Silver-Bronze prediction. :D

Nice call. I bet they are having a run on alcohol in Canada as we speak and may have to declare a national day of mourning. Just the same, I wouldn't doubt if they come out of the bracket. It'll be fun to see.

Must have been hard for Kesler to put away Canada in front of (presumably) his NHL home fans. Same with Rafi beating Brodeur, after winning Cups with him.

Ouch..... that hurts..... I give i give turn off the horror...... Holy Cross is like our wooden stake to the heart..... You win...... :mad: Still if he did it against Canada..... I think we would all get a kick out of it.... Just make sure the RCMP's are ready with a bullet proof vest and a protective detail if he does do it against Canada for the Win;) .....

I'm just messin' with ya and I'd like nothing more than for Phil to score 10 goals and lead us to the gold.

Watching MSNBC and the Canadians seem to be taking it surprisingly well...

Not bragging about it. Throwing it back in response to the Kessel vid. One goal in a game that ended up being meaningless ain't much either.

And we beat you guys all three times that season when Elliott was healthy. Nah nah! :p

I don't think that Kesler minded at all. Can't find his exact quote but this was on an Olympic site...

"Meanwhile, the United States and Canada play in men's hockey today, and tensions between the nations are running as high as they have since the South Park movie. American Ryan Kesler put it bluntly, saying "I hate them" more than once before backpedaling on that statement. The U.S. and Canada are both medal contenders, so tensions would run high based only on that fact, but there's certainly a big brother-little brother component to the rivalry as well."

He said more than that and they talked about it on the pre-game.
