US National Teams: U30s & Mrs. Potter, U22s, U18s Part II

Re: US National Teams: U30s & Mrs. Potter, U22s, U18s Part II

Cuts have been made, including Cahow, Dempsey, Dunne, Gagliardi, and Skarupa

I heard Carpenter and Picard made it

Julie Chu tweeted a picture this morning of herself, Brianne McLaughlin, Jessie Vetter, Alex Carpenter and Monique Lamoureux. Presumably anyone who's been cut is on the way home already. Detective work!

If they started with 28 at the camp and Hux gave us five names and they are cutting down to 23, I think that's all the detective work that is needed.

Yes, those are the five cuts.

Acknowledging that Coach Stone knows Harvard players infinitely better than I, it still seems surprising that Fry was chosen over Dempsey and Picard over Cahow, unless perhaps the ultimate roster isn't set in stone and the younger players are being given either a try out in world competition or a temporary taste of The Show before returning to college in the fall.

This roster is for Worlds and come August everyone goes back to square one.

Good to see Pucci on the list; I hope that means her concussion symptoms are gone.

Surprised Blake Bolden isn't on the roster. Is she injured or something? Seems like a big mistake if you ask me. And I'm a BU fan!

I was wondering about that too. She wasn't in the Active Player Pool list from January (pdf), but she had a very strong end to the season that I thought would have put her in contention. Since she was a senior this year, maybe she's simply decided to retire from competitive hockey and move on with her life?

BTW, good to see a much stronger representation of Gophers players this time round (and I say that as a BC fan).

Quite a few of her games in the first semester were scouted and I think her reckless play at that time may have led to her not being included. During the second half of the season she played under control and was fantastic. I certainly think she has what it takes to play at the next level and hopefully we will see her on a National team roster soon.

I also hear she is hard to coach. She has the talent to be out at that camp so it has to something along those lines.

Yup...pretty impressed with her play in Minneapolis and a few other late season games I watched online.

If she were hard to coach I doubt her play would have evolved over the course of the season.
