US National Teams: U30s & Mrs. Potter, U22s, U18s Part II

Re: US National Teams: U30s & Mrs. Potter, U22s, U18s Part II

Has she ever had a look?? She was truly a dominant force in all the games I watched this season. Amazing to watch opposing players trying to be physical only to end up looking up at the roof....

Blake was almost on the 2012 USA team that played at the World Championships in Burlington, VT. She was one of the last two cuts just before the tournament started. I'm a big fan of Blake also - she's a very mobile D.

If she was hard to coach I doubt she'd have been made captain either. Maybe the Beanpot final hurt her too -- she took a lot of dumb penalties there, the team lost a match they shouldn't have lost, and it was the start of a very rocky month for them. She certainly redeemed herself with her performance in Minneapolis, all the way up to nearly blocking the winning goal.

Dumb penalties has been her MO since she arrived at Chestnut Hill. Just repeating what I've heard....She has great skill. Gigi Marvin is being converted to Defense and Bolden isn't getting a look....Should be interesting. She may be a late invite.

Marvin has been playing defense for a while now.

yes so I hear...........A forward her whole career. She has been playing D for Blades but that's not the same. The point being. The people at USA hockey think a converted forward is a better option.

Copying this here... Schedule of games for the Team USA pre-selection camp coming up in a week and a half.

Given that the entire squad that won the World's has been invited to this camp, my guess is that there's very little chance of any change in lineup. Anyone know any reason to think different?

I still can't believe H Brandt won't end up on this Team.

I'll guess that there will be a couple of changes. Don't know who or why, but there is usually some turnover from year to year, event to event.

Would love to see Carpenter make the Olympic Team. She was a huge force at the College level last year.

She also more than held her own at Worlds. If she doesn't make the team, she'll probably be one of the last cuts.

One can only hope that she's given a fair shot. I have to believe that the extended tryout including multiple exhibition games will bolster her chances, especially if she's paired on a line with Amanda Kessel.
