Meanwhile, down in Orlando, a mass shooting by a gunman, possibly with Islamic ties, in a gay nightclub has killed ~20 people and wounded 40+.

From the article:

The reports in question reveal 29 individuals suspected of drug dealing were executed following the May 9 election of self-described dictator Rodrigo Duterte, who called for policemen and civilians to murder alleged drug dealers should they resist arrest.

"Please feel free to call us, the police, or do it yourself if you have the gun ... you have my support," Duterte told a crowd in a speech June 6. "Shoot [the drug dealer] and I'll give you a medal."

He's just against political correctness.

Rut roh:

61% of Sunderland's voters picked Leave, while only 39% went for Remain. Compare that to the 46/40 predicted by political scientist Chris Hanretty or to the 56/43 predicted by JP Morgan. This is bad news for Remainers. As Hanretty put it, "the closer it is in Sunderland, the better it is for Remain". And this result was not close at all.

Wow. That's stunning. How did the markets and the bookies get this wrong?
