Translation of Ukrainians civil defense tactics being circulated. Military people here can attest to whether it's good advice:

40-mile long columns of vehicles have been detected coming from Russia by Maxar satellite imagery. If you are still in Ukraine, it is essential to use any means necessary to slow down Russian advances to give defending troops, planes, and drones time to re-arm and attack.
  • Gather any lengths electrical wire that you can, place objects on or near roads in partially obscured places such as suitcases, backpacks and metal boxes, run electrical wires to these objects, partially buried.
These will resemble roadside bombs - Improvised Explosive Devices - and Russian tanks will avoid these or slow down to fire at them to disarm them, wasting ammo and giving up their positions.
  • Pile any burnable material - pallets, discarded clothing, tires, plastics, household rubbish, ect in piles in the middle of streets.
These may then be lit with molotov cocktails when enemy vehicles approach, obscuring their view, posing a hazard.
  • Break into abandoned cars and push these into the middle of streets, then use a sharp object to flatten the tires so they are harder to push out of the way.
As above, these can also be lit up with molotovs ahead of advancing vehicles.
  • If you have or can get a chainsaw, fell trees onto roads where possible. Do not fell powerlines, these may still be live and used by the defenders.
  • As someone else has suggested, paint dinner plates green and grey, place these on roads and roadsides to resemble landmines.
  • If by some miracle you have access to ammunition reloading equipment and plastic explosive, reload 7.62 x 39 ammunition with half powder and half plastic explosives. Distribute these hot-loaded rounds one each in magazines of ammo, and place in killed russian solder pockets. The ammo may be recovered by russian troops and used by them, hot loads will explode the gun they are used in.
  • If you have reloading equipment but no plastic explosive, remove the bullet, remove all but a small amount of powder, ad replace bullet. As above, distribute one or two in magazines and leave mags for Russian to find. Cold-loads will misfire, possibly block gun barrel, and will slow down ability of Russian soldiers to attack.
  • Farm fence wire - strip as much farm fence wire as you can t spread across roads and ensnare in enemy vehicles wheels and tracks.
  • Water tanks and water towers - Wherever possible, release as much water from stored reserves into areas close to roads and intersections, especially where there are choke points, to sodden the ground and ensnare tanks, vehicles, soldiers boots.
Please, continue to add to these tactics if you have any others to contribute. Every little bit helps.

The Taliban is asking "both sides to stop the violence," thus setting up a sweet gig on Fox News someday.

Apparently there are a bunch of Afghani refugees in Ukraine. Don't stand next to those guys when you play golf.

Hard to tell but Mariupol may be encircled. It is confirmed that the local government reports they are still in control of the city. Nobody is sure whether the Russians will just bypass or whether they will bombard the city to take it and close up a flanking menace. I don't know of any media presence broadcasting from there anymore.

AFAIK, 5 days in Russia has not held a single objective larger than a village. They have destroyed a lot, though -- airfields, equipment, defensive works.

Susan is now concerned

She'll give him a stern talking to.

Snopes confirms Russian state TV is playing clips of Tucker Carlson claiming Ukraine "isn't even a real country" to bolster their claim that the international public agrees with Putin and only corrupt western governments are opposing Denazification.

Take a bow, Republicans. Boy did you find a home.

Remember the 17-mile convoy? Apparently now it's 40. And halted.

I assume every fighter and bomber crew on Earth has had this dream.

Julia Davis on Twitter has been translating Russian state TV for years, and as of late they have loved airing FOX clips on their show.

They've also admitted on air that Trump was their useful idiot and that FOX is carrying the water for them. They openly laugh at the western world for eating up their bullshit.

She's been a great follow for years.

Yeah I follow her as well and it is eye opening.

The entire history of the GOP since the Tea Party is going to turn out to have been a GRU Psy Op leading up to this moment of failure, with all Republicans being either Useful Idiots or Quislings.
