Ukrainian resistance is arming and equipping themselves with supplies taken from the Russian convoys they destroy.

Also, there is footage of unknown provenance purporting to show a Ukrainian tractor driver stealing a Russian military vehicle (looks like an equipment transport) by chaining it and just driving away.

I think he badly overestimated first, how good his military is, and second, how much damage Wee Donnie One Term did to NATO and US relations among the EU countries.
 
The EU just closed its airspace to Russian planes. FedEx and UPS suspended service in Russia. BP is getting out. Russian banks are running out of dollars. The ruble is crashing. Putin is finally getting his dream of taking Russia back to the USSR, an impoverished, hermit kingdom.

yep. There are zero manned flights over Ukraine. There probably aren't a lot of drones either. Those drones aren't small and would easily be smoked by SAMs the Russians have. They're slow, big, and have zero anti missile defenses.

This is absolutely spot on.

I'll also add he underestimated the Ukrainians willingness to fight.
 
Jesus, the footage from Ukrainian guerillas is tough to see. War movies are sanitized garbage, even lauded stuff like Private Ryan. These people died by burning to death. Their bodies are half blown away, partly burned like steaks, you can see through their skulls where half their head has been burned or blown away.

Every boy from 12-18 should sit through hours of this in school. There would never be another war.
 
UK Foreign Secretary backs individuals going to Ukraine to fight.

Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has said she supports individuals from the UK who might want to go to Ukraine to join an international force to fight.

She told the BBC it was up to people to make their own decisions, but argued it was a battle "for democracy".

She said Ukrainians were fighting for freedom, "not just for Ukraine but for the whole of Europe".

There's already reports of ex special forces from various countries in Ukraine. Honestly, if the Ukrainians can hold out a few more days things could get worse for the Russians.
 
UK is considering a ban on Russian ships in their ports.

Reports of additional states asking for NATO membership.

Germany increasing defense spending to >2% GDP.

Jesus Vlad, you done fucked up. This vision of a genius so many had has completely evaporated. One of the greatest military blunders in modern history for certain. I can't think of one worse.

Whether thats true or not I don't know but it makes Putin more willing to do crazy shi t IMHO. I think the Nuclear ready to go comments were a sign that Russia is backed into a corner.
