LOL. "Iranian" drones launched from Iraq?

Assuming this is a reference to mookie's post and not some nonsensical Trump tweet, I think he means it flew over the gulf through Kuwaiti airspace. That seems plausible. But fairly long range given Iran's drone known tech. Which could have significantly improved since we started losing drones over their airspace.

Here's the city/airbase where the report has the drones coming out of:

Edit: Apparently they have drones (from China?) that have a 900+ mile range:

Good thing we didn't go to war with Cuba over this.

The mysterious ailments experienced by some 40 Canadian and U.S. diplomats and their families while stationed in Cuba may have had nothing to do with sonic "attacks" identified in earlier studies.

According to a new Canadian study, obtained exclusively by Radio-Canada's investigative TV program Enquête, the cause could instead be neurotoxic agents used in pesticide fumigation.

Whoops, apocalypse.

There is a sadly larger than you think number of people who believe EMPs are gonna be used by Russia to destroy us. They also believe in Chemtrails and that the US Government not only is in possession of multiple "Bigfeet" but that they are breeding them and training them to be the military of the future. Brain rays is nothing compared to that crap.

No...none of that is hyperbole.

Re: US Foreign Policy 3.0: We're The Mets of International Diplomacy

Reuters article out today has Iran claiming 2k km range. All US carriers and bases in the gulf at risk, per Iranian claim.

Re: US Foreign Policy 3.0: We're The Mets of International Diplomacy

I’ll take the US phalanx system over a bunch of security guards firing machine guns randomly in the air.

Those things pose very little threat to carriers. Especially at the slow speeds they reportedly fly at.

Phalanx was destined to target things coming it at anti ship missile speed. Not a Cessna.

I've seen declassified high res super slo mo films of those during tests ("we manufacture that product by the way...").

Fig 1. Kepler, artist's conception

They are, I believe the technical term is, insane. They're going to stop anything not coming in in the hundreds per cubical meter per second traveling less than the speed of sound.

They are my favorite weapons system (is that a thing?) I’ve ever seen. The engineering alone on them is mind blowing. It’s like Iron Dome taken to 11,000,000.

The only weakness is, like you alluded to, high volume. They would blow through their ammunition. I’m guessing reloads have already been considered by the military so maybe even that weakness has been mitigated.

Either way, they are last resort. There are several other tech platforms protecting carrier groups. If you’re at the point where phalanx is involved, it’s a hot war and **** has thoroughly hit the fan.
