Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Chay to me looked a step slower than the beginning of last year, but that is to be expected after almost an entire year off.
I would guess he will be back up to speed within the next couple weeks of games. :)

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

I agree about 2002, not so sure about 2009.

Losing Gerbe was big (we were happy to see him go), but I think you can argue that the losses of Gerbe, Bertram, Brennan and a couple of additional role-playing seniors in 2009 isn't any greater than your losses of Sneep, Lombardi, Smith and a couple of role-playing seniors this year.

I certainly don't expect BC to repeat it's post-championship blues of recent past, but we can always hope. :)

The 09 team and the 11 teams aren't even close when it comes to talent. Brennan was a huge loss for the 09 team as was Bertram. Losing Lombardi and Smith will hurt, but the 09 team didn't have an Atkinson, Hayes or Kreider on it. We'll see.

I expect a BC vs. UND final this year.

I expect a BC vs. UND final this year.

I wouldn't mind seeing that.
Of course, most people expected to see a DU vs. Miami champ game last year, and that didn't work out too well. ;)

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

I've been wondering this too, but I don't know if it's going to happen. The Bina incident was different than this. I could see the goons around the league actually gunning for him more.

Have you finished writing the pdf roster of these alleged goons so we can all know what players to watch for on a weekly basis?

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Agreed with your points on Cichy, Forbort, and Nelson.
Nelson was also excellent on faceoffs...9 wins in 10 faceoff attempts.

Yes, I was very impressed with Forbort. Poised with the puck, and will only get better in time.

I also thought that Knight had a much larger presence on the ice. It will take time, but Knight and Nelson may be able to replace VandeVelde and Zajac at the center position.

This will be a fun weekend. I love watching hockey after midnight.:)

Paukovich signed with Las Vegas.

Article on Dell:

http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/178325/

Dell was unpredictable as a freshman, which is why he only received four starts.

In his two road starts — at Anchorage in October and at Cornell in January — he allowed a combined one goal in 125 minutes. His save percentage was .967.

In his two home starts — against St. Cloud State in November and Denver in January — Dell didn’t make it to the second period. He was lifted both times after stopping just .667 percent of the shots.

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Wow, still far too many weeks until the season home opener.

At least my season tickets aren't going anywhere :)

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Feels like a loss after the meltdown at the end of the 2nd and the 4-goal lead, but we move on.

Go Sioux, beat UAF tomorrow (today)!
