Re: University of North Dakota - Offseason Thread 2010

I always like the part of the Sioux's regular season when we end yours... enjoy the drama that is your offseason happy because it has to be better than watching your goofs go down the drain again...

what ever happened to you guys winning national championships? can't do it any more, can you? You guys choked to a weak eastern team to end a season, so go ahead, keep bragging about it.

Re: University of North Dakota - Offseason Thread 2010

Happy's rants are that much more amusing when the Gophers finish in the bottom half of the WCHA...again...and have their season ended at REA...again. :)

Will the Gophers be able to finish ahead of UNO and BSU next season?

:)

I wasn't bragging about losing to Yale, I was saying how much joy it brings me to end your guy's season.....reading comprehension isn't your strong point.

Re: University of North Dakota - Offseason Thread 2010

and, you know that when Minnesota became a state, it keep the good side of the river, and gave the bad side to the godforsaken heathens.

oh, and when do the sue players start getting arrested? I always like that part of the sue offseason the best.

I'm glad to be on the 7 NCs side of the river, personally. What I enjoy most about UND's (wish i could say the sioux....sigh) players getting arrested is that it actually matters to the team in terms of point production. Would anyone really notice if every goof except Cepis left or got arrested? Instead of recruiting this offseason tDon and Co. should hand out drugs to current players and have them arrested forfeiting their scholarships and recruit players who are worth a **** and can return UM to their two years of glory. Again this is only my opinion but I would rather lose players to drinking than watch them lofquit-goneposo the team or stop playing after a huge freshman season (schroeder) because they lost faith in the program. Schroeder could have had an amazing career at minne but something is awry at tMooch and it's not the players.

Any negative rep and comments can be directed to the ND SBHE who is responsible for the anger and lash outs on this thread.:)

Crazy to think that Schroeder could get as many goals in his short stint in the AHL than he got all season in the WCHA for UMN.

It looks like the goofs are way ahead in the getting arrested department - a felony no less. See the link in post 317.

I would rather win 2 national championships in the last 10 years, than none, like you chokers.

Rough spring, Happy?
Don't worry, I'm sure the Gophers will actually make the NCAA's one of these years again. :)

The Sioux won a national title in 2000...that falls under your "in the last 10 years." You should've shortened it to say 8 or something for better effect or waited to make that statement until 2011 came around. :)

Just sayin...

UND's last NC was April 8th, 2000 so officially it has been ten years but you have been saying that same trash for two seasons. Congratulations Happy, you finally uttered a true statement minus the choke part which is a throne that only one team can occupy and that team is the UM can't make the F5. Stop by the Ralph next year and we will let you stare at your reflection in the Broadmoor Trophy, it's in the trophy case right next to kevin wehrs' skull.

Brian, I have some sad news. Rae Ann passed away today, as her liver gave out. Came up on all of us quickly, as she was seemingly ok a couple weeks ago. Very unfortunate.:(

Can someone enlighten me as to who Rae Ann is?

The owner of an excellent bar & grill in downtown GF. Best burgers in town, not to mention 32oz chilled mugs of beer.

Some updates from the Sioux blog:

Offseason workouts have been going on for a couple of weeks now. Hakstol says they've been pretty intense so far and he would call them "good to excellent." A couple of players are still limited by injuries.

*****

Defenseman Joe Gleason is still recovering from his foot injury, but the Sioux are hopeful that it won't have much of an effect on his offseason training.

*****

Recruit Dillon Simpson's season came to an end tonight when the Spruce Grove Saints lost in Game 7 to the Vernon Vipers in the battle for the Doyle Cup. Simpson will likely be a member of the Sioux in the fall.

*****

Still no update on Chay Genoway. After the season, UND said it would give him the time he needed in order to make a decision. Nothing has changed since then. He's also still waiting to be medically cleared.

If Simpson is coming in, something has got to give with the current dmen or dmen recruits.
Even if Genoway doesn't come back, you can't bring in Simpson, Nick Mattson, and Forbort to replace one departure.

Wow, tough for Genoway still waiting for medical clearance! :(

Re: University of North Dakota - Offseason Thread 2010

INCH rates their top 10 players for the 2011 season for the Hobey:

http://insidecollegehockey.com/inch/2010/04/26/10-for-11-players/

CHAY GENOWAY
North Dakota
Provided he’s healthy and returns to the Fighting Sioux after missing all but nine games last season with a concussion, Genoway certainly belongs on this list. When he’s on, Genoway is among the top offensive defensemen in college hockey and his presence completely changes the dynamic of the North Dakota power play. His successful return from a serious injury could become a compelling storyline for Hobey voters.

You'd have to think that a few of the players on their list stand a very good chance at leaving college before next season, including Genoway.
