Nowhere did I ever say that the NCHC sucks. I believe the terminology that I used was overrated and overhyped, which I stand by. There are a few good teams in that conference, as there are in most conferences. The fact of the matter is that the Midwest Regional Final was anybody's game heading into the last half of the 3rd period. To North Dakota's credit, they found a way to gut out a tough win against a quality opponent. They deserve credit for that, as I have already mentioned previously. However, I do think that the BC/Quinnipiac semifinal is for all intents and purposes the "real championship game". Based on what I have seen so far, in my objective opinion those are clearly the two best teams.
My beef with the NCHC is mainly just the attitude that so many of their fans have towards the Big Ten and/or Big Ten schools. They come off as acting like the Big Ten somehow did them wrong, which I think is absolute garbage. If anybody wronged anybody, it was the schools that formed the NCHC when they went and abandoned what was left of the WCHA and CCHA (which of course consolidated to make up the new WCHA). That was a completely uncalled for overreaction. The WCHA would have been just fine without the Gophers and Badgers. The CCHA would have been just fine without Michigan, MSU, and OSU. But the leftover schools that had to merge together to create the new WCHA are not fine, that league is currently losing a lot of money. They have the egomaniac NCHC schools to thank for that.
