University of North Dakota '19-'20 Season Thread - There's this Tournament in March..

Re: University of North Dakota '19-'20 Season Thread - There's this Tournament in Mar

Until Michigan is willing to find a pair of balls and schedule UND in a home and away series during the regular season, I say no to scheduling them for a neutral site game.

Be careful what you wish for. Those are some cheap shot fockers right there.

They are physical & aggressive. They get penalties and need to improve in that area. However, if you want to watch tennis, go for it.

My vote for #1 would be the Ralph, but maybe after The Old Barn, but that's nostalgia for me ......... I'm amazed that ASU even got on the list being the arena is only a figment of imagination at this point. Anyway, a good controversial subject being its not based on any standards or metrics, just opinion.....

Big win for the Sioux and a big win for Scheel. Made some outstanding saves tonight. Still a 6 point lead over UMD with 3 games to go

Re: University of North Dakota '19-'20 Season Thread - There's this Tournament in Mar

That was a good win. Didn't play their best game but found a way to win. Good stuff

Agreed. Solid performance, got the W, and now the Seniors can clinch at least a share of the Penrose on Senior Night. I'm assuming the Cup will be in the building.

The win, coupled with the other results, also further cemented UND as #1 overall in the Pairwise. They are 0.0243 ahead of Mankato in the RPI, which is a pretty significant lead.

This team has a realistic shot to win 30 games this year, something the program has only accomplished three times (2003-04, 2010-11, 2015-16) since North Dakota piled up 4 consecutive 30-win seasons from 1996-97 to 1999-2000. If they win out, they would put up 35...which would tie the second most in program history (with the 1981-82 squad).

Much more fun to be a fan this season than the last two. :) Hopefully, we get rewarded for that terrible, terrible drought with #9. :p:D:D

Re: University of North Dakota '19-'20 Season Thread - There's this Tournament in Mar

Well...that was certainly a dramatic way to capture the Penrose Cup. Senior Night. Overtime. After a controversially disallowed goal. Pinto delivers!

Congratulations boys!! Congratulations Seniors. Pretty special way to cap the regular season home campaign.

Way to bring back some hardware to Grand Forks. Now on to clinching the top seed and the #1 overall spot in the Pairwise, en route to the program's first NCHC Tournament title, and then hoisting #9! :D

Nice night. Now I have to think about a trip to Detroit. Not all bad. :D

Well said. What a turn around from last year. Nice not to hear fire Berry crap anymore. Number 9 could very well happen. Roll Tribe!!!!

Well The fire berry chants were deserved. Berry had an aweful few years but he seems to have come around as a head coach... thank god

Finally!! After winning the NC in year one, he's coming around.

Unless by aweful, you really mean aweful.

Here’s the NCHC Strength of Schedule: UMD 2, UND 3, DU 4, SCSU 7, WMU 8, MU 12, CC 16, UNO 15. Toughest conference and has been since its inception

Re: University of North Dakota '19-'20 Season Thread - There's this Tournament in Mar

From Schlossman:

For those who love weird stats: The only two UND hockey teams to ever win a game on leap day were in the building tonight: 1980 and 2020.

Re: University of North Dakota '19-'20 Season Thread - There's this Tournament in Mar

I guess if you think Berry is aweful (sp), you don't remember Rube Bjorkman. I really thought he destroyed the Sioux hockey program.

Re: University of North Dakota '19-'20 Season Thread - There's this Tournament in Mar

We want to challenge your program. ;) Giants of college hockey.

So come to Detroit...

Since MAINE won't be coming to Detroit or a Regional for that matter, I suggest you start your program improvement project on a smaller scale. Maybe recruit at least four cheerleaders who wouldn't scare the label off a beer bottle.
