University of Michigan, 2017-2018, a new era starts

Re: University of Michigan, 2017-2018, a new era starts

No one is still bitter about him leaving, we understand that part. But it would be nice if he would stop contacting our recruits.

That, I can understand.

But it's pretty petty to come over here and pretend that rooting for the other team really means anything to people from Michigan. Which is why I replied to the other Tech fan. My dad was very upset that he left Tech, too, but got over it.

I don't know a single Michigan fan who does not like Tech. Why find us reasons to not? (yes, I'm sure there are some, but right now, most Michigan fans have no bad feelings about Tech at all, and some of us would put them as our #2 after Michigan)

I know you, me, and KC (who doesn't post much anymore) would all probably say Tech is our #2 and have some Tech gear. I also have a Michigan alumni friend who grew up in Calumet, I'm not sure where she'd rank Tech vs. Michigan, but for sure they are her 1 and 2.

But alfa, one could make the arguement of cheering for ND since it took overtime for the Irish to beat the Huskies (and Tech almost won), that if ND wins it all, it is proof of how good Tech was this year. I know I've on occasion cheered for the team that knocked out my team, thinking maybe that means we were second best.

I'm not denying that Tech people should or should not root for us, or whoever. I'm just saying it's kind of petty to root against us HERE when so many of us like Tech, too. What's the point of trying to make Michigan fans mad? First, we already know that a gross majority of the hockey world, strike that, the entire college athletic fanbase- don't like Michigan in one way or another. And I don't know anyone who really cares about that. Second, it "risks" some fans going sour on Tech, who most of us like quite a lot.

There are schools that some of us had been neutral on (or even partially liked), but now pretty much despise thanks to their fan base. I really don't want to see that happen to Tech.

Hey, UMICH! If OSU gets past Duluth I'm going to take that 12 hour drive to be there for the Championship game. If you're still there we'll see about that beer and I'm counting on you guys to get past ND!

I support any team from Michigan, almost went to U of M but decided to stay close to home (Calumet). I don't have anything against NMU either, my dad played football there and a lot of my family are alums. Tech, NMU, LSSU, Michigan, no preference after that. I would be pulling for ND, given how we played them and for Jeff Jackson but not against Michigan.

Go Blue!

I'll still be there. Tickets are bought, flights are scheduled, and it's the Frozen Four. If Michigan doesn't get past rudy I'll still be there, but of course I want them to beat that annoying Little Twerp.

You know where I stand on schools from the U.P. They're all the same.

I'm getting excited. But maybe it's because I like when the camera at a bouncuball game cuts to the students and the girls are jumping up and down while wearing tight T-shirts and no bras. Does that make me a dirty old man? I think it does.

Looks like we may not be coming now. An injury has really caused some issues with mobility and pain, so we are looking to sell everything and take the monetary loss.

That's a shame, alfa. We were looking forward to seeing you there. Hope the injury heals quickly.

And we missed you all last year- it's always great to run into you- and I KNOW you will have more fun this time, with your team in the FF!! Party like it's 1998!

Aww man that sucks. If I hadn't already bought my tickets I'd buy yours. I hope that you get better quickly. Look for me on TV!

Re: University of Michigan, 2017-2018, a new era starts

I'm getting excited. We fly out tonight.

Just found out my cousin's kid is traveling with the hockey band. Made me reminisce. He's a sophomore. My first ever Frozen Four was my sophomore year, in St. Paul. Hopefully the team has a better result then they did 16 years ago.
