University of Maine Off-season 2024: Insert Pun Here

I've always thought that a Portland game might be the only way to schedule Michigan in the Pine Tree State. An East Coast swing to one of the Boston schools (or UNH) and a game in Portland vs. Maine might be achievable. Imagine what the demand for tickets would be!

I misread the Bentley date as November, but still. That's not going to be very appealing to anyone.

No doubt this is the reason.

I think with the Portland game they do the best they can. Not easy to get Maine’s schedule, arena’s schedule, and an available date for an opponent to all line up. The game usually sucks anyway so if you don’t go not like you’re missing much.

Last season it was a good, game. Maine came from behind to win a tight game. Sometimes a game like that gels a team.

I liked the exhibition vs UNH for a couple reasons. First, since it was a rival the two teams took the game more serious and it likely better prepared the team for games after. Both teams did well after that. Secondly, since it was a rivalry the fans got into it like a normal game. Would be supercool to have “neutral” exhibitions where they alternate hosting between Portland and Manchester. Could help draw more interest in the biggest city in each state. The fans love the rivalry, would be well attended I believe.

Seems like a waste to try and schedule a team like that when the demand is already there for teams like Bentley.

Not sure what the official head count was but the attendance listed for the Bentley game last season was 6,291 which is pretty close to a sell-out for CIA.

PC Construction, formerly Pizzagalli Construction out of Burlington, VT......good company, i worked alongside them from way back when I was in construction. Glad to see they have some Maine alums in their staff....should equate to top quality work. Busy worksite, good to see.

Interesting I went by the other day and I didn't realize when they sent the season ticket info out why the Dexter lounge would be closed but it's closed because it's demolished lol

Also club level isn't being touched at this time which I think is a huge miss

Agreed. Could have added more club level seating and more $$$ revenue.

Post by the team on IG honors all 24 members of the team who were all-academic, and seems to imply that Brandon Holt had the highest GPA of any student-athlete in Hockey East. Excellent work from the team!

I think a 3.0 gets you academic honors. The highest GPA for your position gets you on the academic all star team. It looks like Brazeale, Freel, Ostman and KO were on the team last year. Holt and Freel this year.

I noticed they scheduled UNH at Orono on Valentine’s Day. I bet the students will be creative with the signs for this one. I can see it now “this Valentine’s Day we want wild *us*y”
