University of Maine Off-season 2024: Insert Pun Here

What is Montgomery's contract status...if he has a year or so more then there's no way he gets canned...the B's owner (Jacob's)is soooooo cheap he won't pay for two Head Coaches in one season..paying off Montgomery and the new one who replaces him.

Why not pay for two head coaches in the same season, as Jacobs is already paying for two No. 1 goaltenders in the same season (maybe next season also)? Head coaches have not been the problem with the Bruins (ex. Cassidy won a SC the year after he got canned by Neeley). The Bruins big problem is their lousy roster construction by Neeley and Sweeney; time for Jacobs to can both of them. And then figure out a way to move Ullmark, Lindholm, and Debrusk.

Swayman was absolutely awesome the entire series. Montgomery called out Pastranak after last game saying they need more from him. Pasta gets the game winning goal in OT. Good stuff.

Guess my source was correct. Great to see Natl champs come to town and with student gone maybe I can get a ticket : )

Double back on this. Denver is here because Barr asked Carle is come to Maine and he said yes..Maine will be in Denver next year.

They tried to unload Ullmark at the deadline but he vetoed that...they will ship him out this summer for much needed draft picks or whatever they can get...won't be paying for two #1 netminders, with Swayman in line for a new deal....Bruins in need of picks in this year's draft...if I remember correctly they have no 1,2,or 3 this up coming draft.

Agreed. Bruins would have been swept without Swayman, who was sensational in his six games against the Leafs.

Lindholm finally did something to earn his $6+ mil/yr salary with his goal and then setting up Pasta for GWG in OT.

Agreed. The Bruins also should have over $20 mil of cap space to spend and even more if they can unload Ullmark and Lindholm.

Surprised that neither Wilmer & Ambrosio have not picked a new place to play...UMaine still needs to add a #3 goaltender(?)...unless there's another goaltender coming in besides Berzin thru this year's recruiting list..(?).

Watching Swayman is so much fun. He’s so focused and cat quick. Bruins taking care of business tonight.

First game he played in orono it sure looked like he had alot of potential, just something about his fundamentals and confidence. There was talk on this forum at the time wondering if he was going to be good, lol.
He sure developed nicely while at maine and was smart to stay until ready, not to mention enjoy the college hockey time while he could.

I met him before the season..@ a UMaine football game...fun to speak to and genuine...he said he came to Maine to WIN...he was all about the team...not himself but winning as a team and program

How could Maine have not won a NC with Swayman? :)

Red Gendron didn’t build and coach up the team in front of him. The one season where they were decent and headed for ncaa playoffs, Covid canceled the season. Red was a likable guy, and the players liked him, but he wasn’t very strong at putting together a winning line up.

Always thought Nyquist and Abbott had good cases for the Hobey when they were nominated but it's criminal that Swayman didn't win that award.

I am not sure on those two transfer forwards. There could be a bit of interest from multiple teams and they want to do a visit or something.

It appears as though Syzszka isn’t ready to come in with an 0.85 save percentage in USHL. Likely needs another year to see if he can progress. Berzins played quite well. It is interesting because he played in a rotation with a goalie that had better save percentage. So he is used to being in a rotation. I’m happy with the future of our goaltending. I think for the #3 goalie they would need to add a developmental project that isn’t expecting playing time(similar to Mundinger). Or maybe Androlewicz comes back from the portal?
