University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

Lots of work to do to replace Scott, Breen, Makar, Renwick and Mitton on forward. Max Scott would be a good start. Other than Gerrior, what freshman forwards are formally committed?
I believe that Brock James and Nick Peluso are the other forwards committed for next season aside from Will Gerrior.

Mitton was a big, high energy guy, but I struggled at times to really figure out what it was he was bringing to the table. He went from a 25-30 point guy to 11.

You can follow in the link Ineverquit put in the Maine recruits thread.

Nick Peluso, Will Gerrior, and Brock James are the only known forward coming in.

Loic Usereau and Jeremy Langlois are the only known defensemen coming in.

I speculate three more forward will be brought in, likely all capable of playing center.

Barr has done great in the portal. At the same time it would be wonderful if he can land some high scorers from the CHL.

I don’t see a reason he can’t land some top scorers from the CHL. If he isn’t, then it is likely he doesn’t prefer the top scorers that might be cockier as compared to the more humble hard working blue collar types.

There are guys who are both out there. We just need to get them here.

Sacha Boisvert is probably the biggest name in the portal right now. He's rumored to be headed to Hockey East. That usually means BC or BU, but I'm going to be delusional optimistic until he signs

Also in the portal is his left wing line mate on that 1st line, Owen McLaughlin. Sign them both up for Maine.

According to Mike McMahon both are likely Boston bound. It would be nice to get them at Maine, but I'd be shocked if they could afford them. Boisvert is Canadian but UND fans seem sure he's leaving for money.

I don’t know. I think nobody really knows unless you are on the coaching staff or work for AD office. And now evidently it can be revenue sharing. So maybe there is a bump in ticket prices to generate money?
Ya, tight lipped for sure. I know a few of the guys had deals with Orono Brewing and the like.

Here's a question for all you big-brained hockey folks - Given the results of the tournament thus far, do you think it's possible that the HE teams built their teams to be HE competitive maybe over nationally competitive? After watching all but one of the games thus far (missed bc denver), the non-HE teams just seemed to have some different dimensions to their play. I was just curious.
