University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

Maine’s scored first in its last 4 ncaa games and barring a Harvard here lost ‘em all. Ffs
Yeah, I was just thinking that I've seen this story before and I didn't like the ending... And truth be told, as awesome as that 2004 game was against Harvard, most of that game was no joy.

I am not a Maine fan but I want them to win. Allentown is 160 miles from Penn State. It is not in their backyard. Any number 1 seed faces the possibility of playing a host team unless they are hosting.

I keep seeing posts like this and it's clear that the posters don't live in Pennsylvania or haven't spent time in the state. Basically, Penn State would be at an advantage at any major city in the state regardless of the location because of the huge alumni base throughout PA. It's the flagship school with thousands of current students and alumni and the fanbase is basically a cult. The Lehigh Valley (where Allentown is located) has plenty of PSU alumni and Philadelphia, which probably has the largest alumni base outside of NYC, is under 2 hours away in a vehicle. Allentown was always going to be a home game for Penn State.

Yes. Mostly because of football. That entire state is Penn State fans, even in Pittsburgh, which is probably like 8 hours drive from there.
