University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

DU was all over them in the first half of the period, but I thought Maine did a good job to pull it together and outplayed them in the second half. Great to hold it together and tie the game, has been a pretty good game to watch so far as well.

Going to be tough to get that out of your head before tomorrows game. Doesn't bode well

That Denver is a piece of shit interfering team that apparently has the hockey east refs in their pocket? Not buying it. David Carle Apparently has the refs by the balls

Brutal loss, Maine did not deserve to lose that one. The last two minutes of that game I think showed why Denver is at that next level. They were able to bring it and we didn’t have an answer. Other than that, I thought Maine was the better team for most of it. Reminded me a lot of the last 10 minutes at BC.

Hoping for a better result tomorrow. If Maine can replicate the effort I think they get a win.

Teams were virtually tied statistically heading into the third period. Maine outshoots Denver 11-4 in the third despite losing face offs 5-14 in the third. The goal at the end was from a lost face off in our end. And Boija was screened and it seemed a bouncing puck that might got redirected too? I didn’t get good look at it.

This team works hard but just doesn’t have the closing ability. So many loose pucks with the opposing goalie flopping about and nobody can get a stick cleanly on the puck. That goalie does a 180 to save that goal at the end and it seemed like it was in slow motion and no Maine player can get a stick on it. It is almost as if there wear no blades on the Maine sticks and they were poking at it with poles. Maybe when they are down on their stomachs they should just cue it up like they’re breaking the rack in billiards. I don’t know how so many guys can try and never whack the puck, like a force field over that puck when it is in front of the opposing goalie.
