University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

UNH lead or was tied for all but 5 minutes of the weekend. That was a demoralized looking team leaving the ice tonight.

What are the odds UNH comes to Orono for the quarterfinal again this year?
Slim. UHN will finish dead last in Hockey East. The Wildcats would have to upset whichever team finishes #6 and Maine would have to win the regular season title outright. BC wins the tiebreaker.

Nadeau gets sweet justice for that cheap shot to the head. It woke him up. Hopefully that carries through rest of the season.

Tonight just reinforces what I think we’ve all thought. This team has “it”, hard to describe what “it” is but they seem to always find a way.

Happy for Nadeau tonight, he’s having what has probably been the most difficult season of his career scoring wise but the people who have been watching know it’s not because of a lack of effort. That goal was vintage Nadeau.

The best part is Everything College Hockey will have great footage for that documentary. Hopefully they get the balcony doing the sieve chant.

What a crazy third period.

This team has been putting together some really great character wins with limited scoring lately, and tonight was the cherry. Kind of a monkey off the back period with a bunch of guys getting on the board.

ECH got one hell of a show for their video, can’t wait to see that come out.

Also loved that Nadeau did his goal cele right at the ref that called him for the unsportsmanlike penalty as well. Not sure if the cameras picked that up on the broadcast but it was obvious he aimed it at him

Yeah, there's certainly some "it" with this team.

Very hard to explain how Maine looked so lethargic for most of the game, then pulled so many irons out of the fire, but I'm not complaining.

I probably woke up neighbors two doors down, late in the 3rd.

These Bears just know how to finish.
