Re: Union Hockey 2012-2013 - Unfinished Business

I haven't been following the PWR as closely as I did last season, but it seems like there is a very little chance for us to get into the National Tourney with an at-large bid. Tampa was incredible last year (other than the losing part) and I'd love to make the trip to Toledo/Manchester/Providence/Grand Rapids and then Pittsburgh this year.

Re: Union Hockey 2012-2013 - Unfinished Business

Goalie has to step up. He will need to steal a game along the way. Cant keep giving up leads. Great goalies don't do that

If I've got it straight the only way we could meet up again would be in the finals at AC, and that would be a very good thing for both teams.

Hate to open this box, but imagine if that happened and imagine if the championships were still in Albany...

Or even next year's spot, Lake Placid.

That, too...but I think the TU Center in Albany would actually sell more than 6,000 tickets for that one. They might even have to sell tickets in the upper sections!

Re: Union Hockey 2012-2013 - Unfinished Business

I caught up with ex Union star Tod Fobare, who ranks second on the school's all time points list with 167. Any long standing fans here should remember him from the early 80s.

He talks about his days at Union, including the time late head coach Charlie Morrison nearly knocked himself out at a disco bar:

As of last night, NJ Devils head coach DeBoer uncertain about goalie starter tonight w/ Hedberg struggling, Brodeur ailing.... may be a chance we see Kinkaid tonight.

According to multiple reports, Keith Kinkaid's first NHL start will have to wait. NJ starting a struggling Hedberg once again tonight.

It'd be something if he debuted vs. Toronto. Kinkaid vs. Scrivens.

Hedberg pulled and KK sees his first NHL action. Congrats to Keith.

Re: Union Hockey 2012-2013 - Unfinished Business

Kinkaid, who stopped 12 of 13 shots, stones Steven Stamkos on breakaway:

Re: Union Hockey 2012-2013 - Unfinished Business

KK looked very solid, only goal coming on a major screen. I would not be surprised to see him start on Thursday despite DeBoergs comment, Hedberg has been awful. Nice game as well for Harvard grad Alex Killorn with goal and assist for the Bolts.

Wrong again. Kinkaid returned to Albany, Frazee called up.
