Re: Union College: 2018-2019

Didn't watch the ESPN+ feed live, but if the highlights pack is exactly the same (and I'd be hard pressed to say it isn't, reference is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k50pcSMXrbI), one little suggestion for the video crew: Take 1 while the puck's in play. I'm assuming camera 1 is the wide shot for the entire zone, 2 is a close shot from the same angle, and other cameras give angles near the boards. It's very hard to follow the play when they're on 2, as the majority of the game is what's developing in the zone but not on the puck. The numbers are big enough to see who it is. Not to mention, the camera moving that much can give you a bit of vertigo. I will say you guys do have a good high FPS.

Re: Union College: 2018-2019

Hard to believe, maybe one game, but two ??

In the first period of the first game we outshot RPI 15-1 and took a 2-0 goal lead (could have been 4-0). In the second period, usually our strongest, RPI got a shorthanded goal and the flood gates opened. RPI scored 9 goals in 5 periods against both our goalies where they had only scored 3 goals in the 9 previous periods. We could not convert on our penalty opportunities of which we had many. RPI has excellent size and are playing excellent defense. They are better than their record indicates and we are not as good as our record indicates. RPI treated this as a championship game and blocked over 30 shots in the second game? We looked like we were pond skating. They were the first to to puck. They deserved both wins.

Re: Union College: 2018-2019

5 on 5 I think that would have been a 1-0 game. It will be interesting to see how tight they call the Clarkson game. RPI really outplayed Clarkson in the first period. Our home ice surface takes away any speed advantage we have. Looks right now Cornell, Qpac, Princeton and Clarkson are tops in the league. Clarkson brings a lot of muscle. Kupski made some great saves.

I usually don't give much credence to the notion that "payback" is a motivator .... however ......

We are on the road and usually play a little better
Everyone is picking us to lose

Re: Union College: 2018-2019

This year through 10 games we are
3.4 GF
2.8 GA
Last year we were
3.0 GF
2.6 GA
As noted by others our offense has thus far shown improvement over last year. We have some nice firepower and good depth. Our national championship team averaged 3.8 GF
That being said we are only going to go as far as our "D" will take us. I am just not sure how far that will be this year. Our National Championship team gave up 2.1 GA. No one is expecting that. Thus far the goals against average per game is going in the wrong direction.

In the last football game of our season, in Troy, Dutchmen take "Dutchmen Shoes" from previously undefeated RPI 34-10. Nice Job.
