UNH Wildcats Official Wait til Next Year...14/15 thread

Two decades near the top of H.E. and a decade in the NCAAs makes the program feel those are a birth right. Those of us real about the fall were telling deaf ears. The hardwork of the climb had been forgotten. This team seems to understand it all must be earned. It makes them fun to watch, and the freshman are hopefully learning the right lessons.

"a season where so many (including me) had basically written them off".

I was certain this was the case with the Pats too after game four. ;)

Never give up, snively, although I do not remember anyone telling me that at Oyster River High, as my senior year had me destined for the Tommy Tech School.

Re: UNH Wildcats Official Wait til Next Year...14/15 thread

Oh man that was a long drive home! What a weekend in Providence! The 4 hours home could have been dramatically worse if UNH hadn't scored that last goal. I love how many UNH fans travel to the games, multiple times this weekend we had PC fans come up to us to tell us just how impressed they were with our turnout. And what a series!

I think my favorite stat from tonight was that with Camper's goal UNH and Providence combined for 13 goals across all 5 games they played this season. Of those 13 UNH had 7 and PC had 6. Doesn't get much closer than that! Compared to some of the high scoring games we've seen from the 'Cats over the last month or so this weekend was all about Tirone and the team defense.

very happy for you guys, nice job. Good luck in the Gahden on Friday

Chuck, I will buy you a beer. And, then you can edukate e.cat and me on the meaninglessness of SOG. :)

Ha ha ha! I can hardly wait;)

We need to get the same seats as last year. BTW, I'm hoping for a "Twin State" final. Wouldn't that be fun?

Good seeing your gang on Friday night, 34. Alas, my other team needed me more the next two nights in Watertown, which was all for nought in the end, just the opposite of our Cats last night.

Yes, e.cat, an all-Cats finale at the Gahden would be really cool, and the only way that either team can make the NCAAs. I am still annoyed that Hoky was right about the Friars being a lock.

If anyone already has tickets for Friday night, please post locations here, and I will see how close by I can get.

2009 bu-bc - BU top seed and good TV match-up
2010 bu-maine - BC top seed played early, BU-ME better TV than BC-VT
2011 mc-uhn - BC top seed and I would argue BC vs Northeasten way better TV match up
2012 bu-maine - BC top seed, I guess BU-ME is better for TV than BC-PC
2013 bu-bc - UML top seed, BU-BC better for TV than UML-PC
2014 uhn-pc - UML top seed, UML-ND on paper probably better for ratings just the NICC factor
2015 bu-uhn - BU top seed, and BU-UNH better TV ratings than UML-VY

So apparently the top seed still get 5 pm unless it is BU... Some years the better TV was arguably (before hand) the early game.

Hea also understands that uhn travels (along with umo) and having them okay early would hurt the gate and the traveling fans ability to make game time.
If Mookie looks at teams like pc & mc they bring nothing.
Bc-nu game means everyone is already in town.
UVM folks unless already local will probably make a weekend of it and be here ready to go regardless.
Umlolol is not IN town but somewhat close and can do early.
Then a marque matchup of by-bc will always go late without saying.

“At the beginning of the period, Tyler Kelleher came up to me and said ‘This isn’t my last game playing with you,’ ” said Camper, one of the team’s five seniors. “ ‘We’re going to keep playing.’ ” (from Concord Monitor).

You nailed it there, JB. Past, present and future. Fun AND fascinating to watch. :)

Fair, I can agree with that analysis. Either that or BU is always the late game? I didn't check the history on all the semi's since 2008.

Congrats. Unfortunately for me, it's a lousy matchup, given it is my two "favorite" HEA schools. Obviously I am partial to my Terriers, but just wish we weren't playing UNH in the 1st round, because we really need this game to solidify our PWR (and you're all saying, "Are you on drugs?"). I know you need it more, and if you beat us I'll be rooting for you guys the rest of the way (unless you play us again). :D

I'm with you JB. I thought for sure we would have the early game because the top seed usually, at least I thought so, gets to pick which game they want.

Nothing against BU mind you. I just like to see my team win no matter who we play:) Anyway, those "dirty hippies" are a fun group;)

Congratulations to the Wildcats and their fans! Well played series. Your team was exciting to watch and I wish you all the best next weekend.

Gotta love Kelleher on the ice and in the room!

Not any more...$$$ talks. TV decides. Period. :)

New game here. Let's play Guess Which Thread this comes from:

Unfortunately the recruiting "misses" right now extend beyond the long-discussed holes in the senior and junior classes. There are some sophomores on this team who were touted as potential stars who have turned out to be just good players. There's nothing wrong with any of them and they're all giving an honest effort night in and night out...

and

It's what we've been saying for a couple of years now, you can't completely whiff on 2 classes of F... and expect to do the type of damage this program has come to expect. But you nailed it, the hallmark of this program has been upperclassmen who had minor roles when they started here taking strides as JR & SR, the names are too long to list and it just hasn't happened.

Bonus question, which thread would you pick without the context from the past 4 weeks?

Not only did the kitties knock out PC -again - but now you force us to root for BU and live in a world where area clown is right. Ugh.

;)

Hey you guys would still make it if Lowell wins the tourney regardless of the other game. ;)

Sounds like one of ours, so I'll guess it's from a BU thread instead. :D
