UNH Wildcats 2015 Offseason - Future Planning ...or Just Rearranging the Deck Chairs?

Re: UNH Wildcats 2015 Offseason - Future Planning ...or Just Rearranging the Deck Cha

Ref

The season ticket bills should be posted to the system by the end of the week. I was informed that they expect the season tickets will be approximately the same as last year. They might decrease a little and of course they might increase a little. You can expect between 299 and 319 for 18 home games if you qualify for special pricing. That includes the St X game on 10/4 and the Verizon in late December against Maine.

If you want the latest schedule update Ref, email me at wknowles@unh.edu. I do not know if there will be changes made as there are some discrepancies between UNH tentative and flagdude's schedule. They should be posting the schedule soon. I am hoping they will confirm the incoming class soon as well.

Day 25 of the Souza Watch - Possible Sighting Reported?

EFFINGWOODS (WIS) - A local businessman reported to authorities last night that a strange visitor to his establishment might match the description of purported incoming UNH Associate Head Coach Mike Souza.

Through its usual network of questionable and non-vetted sources, WIS learned this morning that Chester "Chicken Feed" Horton, the proprietor of the Effingwoods General Store & Qwik Lube, reported the appearance of a Caucasian male in his late 30's, driving a red, late model Chevy Camaro with Connecticut license plates, and curiously asking for directions to "Mister Youmillie's office". The man - who reportedly spoke with "one of them gol'darned Mass-hole accents" - apparently ordered "The Works and Bakers' Dozen Special" during his visit, wolfed down the sinkers in one sitting while work on his car was completed, and showed an "unusual interest" in many of the UNH Hockey publications on display in the adjoining Effingwoods Public Lieberry. Mr. Horton also noted the visitor "stank to high heaven" and looked like he "hadn't shaved in a month", but importantly was carrying a "ratty old hockey gear bag with UNH #7 on it". After paying for his transactions in cash, the visitor left in the general direction of Hedding at a high rate of speed.

Mr. Horton - a former member of the Friends of UNH Hockey Board of Directors - immediately contacted local law enforcement to report his suspected sighting of purported incoming coach, who has not been seen or heard from since his name was rumored to be in the mix for the vacant UNH coaching position recently vacated by Scott "Buddy" Borek. WIS has attempted to follow up with the Effingwoods Police and the NH State Police Missing Persons Bureau, but our (collect) calls have yet to be returned.

Stay tuned for more breaking pseudo-news as the manhunt continues well into its fourth week ...

so, reading between the lines, there must be a different reason that may cause him to play in the USHL.

Joseph Masonius is still planning on coming to UNH in September, 2015.

NCAA watcher
interesting- masonius was just drafted in the ushl draft

Masonius' NLI Status is likely to be resolved today. Assuming NLI offer was issued on 15th, he would have the rest of today to sign. Team USA U18 has today off and plays the Czech Republic tomorrow.

BvR coming in Fall 2016 would not be a surprise if that's how it plays out.

Ok so when I first read this I had a knee jerk reaction and have since re thought it abit. While I have no clue as to what's up with Joseph M's name not being on the roster I personally won't consider this roster official as a few other things aren't "official" like Souza and the schedule just to name a couple. I also recall that Coach U has in the past formally announced his recruiting class and until he does I'm cooling my heels...

On another note looking forward to see if any of our incoming guys get a call in tomorrow's draft!

He was on campus with a recruit this week. Poor Stewie got screwed, UNH alum, more experience in programs that mattered and yet...

Re: UNH Wildcats 2015 Offseason - Future Planning ...or Just Rearranging the Deck Cha

Oh heck I don't know because it would be cool for them! 'Course it usually means we lose that player potentially...Isn't that the dream of all these players?

I just hope I'm still alive if/when UNH ever wins the NCAA D-1 Men's Hockey title.

I do hope the kids fare well after they leave (especially if they play their full eligibility :) :) and graduate :) ), but it would be dishonest of me to say I care the least bit about who gets drafted and who doesn't. FWIW - undrafted players can leave and turn pro pretty much at any time they wish. Draft status doesn't necessarily extend OR end the "dream". Not to mention at least half the kids playing in the ECHL at any given time still harbor the "dream".

The reality is you are a maternal person, and yours truly is a ruthless, cold-hearted bast!d. :D

Walshy  or Souza? Leave it to the old codger (RIP), recruiting posthumously, right on our campus even. ;)

Re: UNH Wildcats 2015 Offseason - Future Planning ...or Just Rearranging the Deck Cha

Pretty soft schedule, at least up through the break. No reason not to get off to a quick start, unlike last season.
