UNH Wildcats 2015 Offseason - Future Planning ...or Just Rearranging the Deck Chairs?

Re: UNH Wildcats 2015 Offseason - Future Planning ...or Just Rearranging the Deck Cha

As for you, Felger ... that last little tidbit ... from your lips to God's ear, now wouldn't THAT (perhaps!) be something??

Well if there is one thing I have learned reading UNH threads over the years its never let the facts get in the way of a good story. But that would make a great storyline for your screenplay wouldn't it? How 'bout the story that Coach Cav didn't like the fact that Souza never relocated to CT? Another great subplot...this is a deep well you can work....

As for living vicariously through TVR, while I enjoyed the cup final and was rooting for the 'Hawks I was more focused on Patrick Kane. Couldn't help thinking about what might have been had that evil old UNH admissions office not turned him down...:p

speaking of which, Kane and Danny Dries are the same age...imagine if they had been in Durham together...

Does Hockey East give an Executive of the Year Award? Because Leaman would be a lock. Quite a haul from Durham - Coach, promising recruit, perhaps even a proven goalie with a year of eligibility remaining.....

Oh my the implications are huge! But if you are referring to who I think you are talking about not sure he can transfer to another HE team or is that incorrect!? Fascinating (said in Dr.Spock voice)

I would think UNH would put certain schools on his list similar to what Northeastern did to Szmutula and certainly Hockey East schools would be on it. In the meantime Providence appears to be all in on Hayden Hawkey handling the job next year, which eliminates being any money also he is already in summer school and rehabbing ready for fall. in the meantime they are well stocked with Dmen now though 9 on the roster now with 3 more coming in '16 and only 2 graduating. Maybe one of your forward recruits could decommit ;)

Shhhhhhhh.....😳 PC seems abit..stacked and alllll set thank you very much! 😉

I also heard that besides Patrick Kane, our Admissions Office would not accept Nick Foligno and Nicklas Backstrom for the 2007-2008 season to play with JvR and Danny Dries, so they also went pro with the Senators and Caps instead.

Luce Canaan has been acting like a spoiled little brat since Souza jilted him for his apparently impending return to his alma mater. First, Luce talks in goosebumps about Souza becoming his "associate head coach" in April or something, planning their lives together as BFF's (or the college hockey equivalent) ... and then all of a sudden, he comes down with a severe case of the "no comments" when he starts hearing talk about his future and erstwhile new BFF leaving his exalted new post at Storrs. In the meantime, while the cat's got Luce's (loose) tongue, the guy from the Courant starts spouting about "head coach in waiting", and Chef Jocks drops the "nephew" thing on an unsuspecting public (including Souza and Umile). Coincidence? I think not. Grow up, Luce, you frickin' little baby ...

RPI blog Without a Peer post about UNH. http://www.withoutapeer.com/2015/06...tml?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

I have no connection with WaP except as a reader.

Thanks for this info! ANY news about our schedule is a good thing, a step in the right direction, that UNH will indeed, play some hockey this year! :D So this game will be our annual 'Pre-Thanksgiving ECAC clunker' as some of you are soooo fond of saying. Here's hoping for better results this time around.. Was hoping to get out to RPI this season but not with this Tuesday night scheduling. Anyhoo...agree with the writer (and I've read their work before decent stuff, objective) that finding the offense may/ could take alittle time, something like last season. McNick, Vela, Salvaggio, Eiserman and Fogele we are counting on you along with the 'regulars'. Let's see who steps up to put it in the net early AND often... we will need it.

Listen, I'm just throwing stuff out there, sort of the way my namesake does on the radio:)

But, if Saponari could go from BU to NU, not sure Casey D. couldn't go from Durham to the city of the Foxy Lady...

I know you won the NC and all, but don't get too full of yourself. When some of your recruits get one look at the legendary jumbotron you might realize that I-95 runs both ways:D

Love the creativity, Felger. Just don't see Coach Leaman being so desperate to bring in a one-year "fix 'er up" in goal - especially one who is only theoretically available due to a questionable incident - in the wake of a long-awaited NC. Why do anything to take any luster off their incredible postseason (post-UNH) run last Spring?

Sure it would make for fun discussion on here, but it would just needlessly open up the PC program to the kind of distractions no team needs - especially one that's going to be celebrating being defending D-1 champions. The same distractions that would've haunted UNH all of last season too, had Coach Umile not taken the steps he did.

You are probably right Mike, I mean Chuck. And in my analogy comparing NU to PC, I in no way meant to put coach Mad Again on the same plane as Leaman. (Or was it coach Bonds, er Cronin who brought Vinny in there.) But that is why some on here don't like you, since you are grounded in the real world.;)

BTW, was thinking that I probably should have chosen "Mazz" for my username.

Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there...:D

Day 19 of the Souza Watch ... just waiting to see his likeness on the side of a milk carton any day now ...

Re: UNH Wildcats 2015 Offseason - Future Planning ...or Just Rearranging the Deck Cha

I am still waiting for the Div 1 "ask me anything" ref to answer your question about Shaun Walsh on the other thread. :-(

I don't think he likes my attitude. :( :p

Re: UNH Wildcats 2015 Offseason - Future Planning ...or Just Rearranging the Deck Cha

Honestly, though, Chuck, is he the first? :D;)
