Sure hope we aren't looking past the Yellow Jackets...looking forward to see how a week of practice looks on our 'Cats. No way can we afford a slow start...

The score did not really reflect the play. UNH carried play for most of the game, but a combination of bad luck and a stupid play killed them.

They had a 1-0 lead when Lindenwood went on the pp. The Cats almost had it killed when the goalie, Vilma, tried to cover it but a UNH dman poked it away. It squirted out front to a LU player who scored.

Shotly after a LU shot deflected off a UNH stick out front and popped over Vilma's shoulder.

Then they collapsed and gave up number 3. Head to the locker room down 3-1, and they don't have the offense to come back.

While no official TV schedule has been released yet, tonight's game will air on WBIN and Fox College Sports (FCS).

Annd the rookie Dawson pots his first!! He has 2pts on the night! 2-2

Side note: Very impressed with Dawson and Vela tonight! Corealle had a great game and TyK / Pots combo lethal. D will have to come along as the competition gets stiffer ...but great win!!!

Totally agree with the title of this article there IS work to be done. (Isn't there always) We saw DT in the lobby and he said that while the boys were psyched with the win they know they have things to improve on. Imagine Coach had a lil chat about that!

Vela...he is the real deal it's going to be very exciting to see him develop. Will be interesting to see who and how our D goes through next weekend...

Would like to say that the 'Cats seemed like they were "fitter" than we've seen them...skated hard through the third which hasn't always been their strong suit. 'Course that could be the opponent. Hubby remarked "I see the 'Cats have learned to forecheck" 😳. We liked the physical play of our forwards; Vela brings a lot of physicality to the ice!

Scott as per Quast no idea why he was sitting but he didn't look too happy about it when we saw him between periods! Could there be a healthy competition brewing on the blue line?

On another note guess the pre game battle has been lost...for now haha 😉☺️

Does anyone know why Quast was a healthy scratch from last night's game? I'm sure that Umile had his reasons, but I find it somewhat humorous when he tells the press that "we need to play better defense" while his senior D-man was sitting in the stands. :rolleyes:.

And, he payed really well in the pre-season game, right? I wonder if Umile was taking AIC for granite to get a look at frosh D-men? I guess that we will find out next Friday night. But, I recall that a lot of folks here have been calling for more ice time going to the freshmen.

Well ... Based on the box score I would think it would be hard to put Dawson back on the bench. On the other hand, there would seem to be a couple senior forwards who could use a break.

And the D in general. The defensive pairings other than Cleland - Furgele were shuffled all game. Maybe I just missed him a lot, but it looked like a 5 1/2 d-man rotation with Boyd being the 1/2. Ironic that the video board had Smith as a healthy scratch and he started. Nice to see Gaudreault carrying the puck, we'll see how that goes vs. the ECAC opponents. Gotta think our 2nd line is our 1st and gotta hope our 3rd line contends to be our 2nd. I love Poturalski's game. UNH should start work on the TK for Hobey campaign (((now))).

The video board is high quality with very solid replay use. The associated cost BS is annoying, but the price we have to pay. The intro was cool, will be for another 4, 5 games after which it will become stale unless they change it up. Timing the video ending UNH flag with the skating flag taking the ice was neat, but I miss the crowd clapping > "YOU'RE WILDCATS". The announcing was off all night. Goals took a long time to announce, the 1:00 minute warning was absent in 1st and 2nd periods, late in the 3rd. Realizing it is early in the season and they need time to get it together: More band, please?

Dawson played like his box score indicates. The 1st line seniors played better than their box scores. Strong and physical, however they would become the 2nd/3rd line based on my "gotta think" comments below. Easy to say after one game vs. AIC. Until the last part of the 3rd, I was thinking that we were not going to have the box score differential I was hoping for.

Darius the normal announcer has been on vacation...should have John back for this weekend. (So we were told) See no reason they can't keep the video stuff with the old stuff and yes I will drop this whine. 😳. Hey you could write the AD I did and got a response within 24...Onward 'Cats!!!
