I guess that I must agree with Freak on this one, that it was a pretty stupid thing to say for a donor. I mean, at least pretend that you are paying attention to the game, especially if you care so much about UNH hockey.

Well I don't know if this is "whispering in his ear" (and not the donor of the tron...to make this clear!) but I did email Marty S to let him know that while we fans are thrilled about the tron we hoped that the intro to games would not change. Sorry I know this seems like small potatoes but there's something about that darkened arena and the O Fortunata (or whatever it is) being played...Last weekend they introduced the entire team so that was different. I got an email back the next day saying that there would be new with the old, somethings would change, some would stay but they haven't figured it all out yet. That's fair enough.

I am thrilled to pieces with the video boards; was awesome to watch the replay of our goals. Could really care less about the emoji cams, or the food cam they did Saturday but that's all part of the "fan experience" I suppose. Even with the smallish crowd Saturday night fans were boisterous and more lively than I've seen in awhile..(well, the 2nd period was an exception) lots of students making noise during the 5 on 3 which I haven't heard there in my short tenure as a fan. Here's hoping the 'Whitt can continue to bring it like they have in the past...maybe not the same as Lively Snively of course (wouldn't that be great) but something along those lines? And, just so you know, I don't go to games strictly for the 'fan experience'. I'm in it for the popcorn haha.

Mind-blowing stuff, to say the least. And I'm sure there is a matching cretin on the other side of the rink waiting for the appropriate time to chime in with his identical complaints once the current *problem* is *fixed". :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

You really just can't make this stuff up.

If they don't downsize the mascots, I'm afraid some genius is going to eventually get the idea the logical next step is for Wild.E.Cat and Gnarlz to produce an "offspring" mascot. Because lord knows we need more than one mascot, and once we've made the bold step to two, then why stop there?? :rolleyes:

I have not yet seen said Jumbotron, but are there not four sides? So, what direction will players be moving for fans at the ends of the rink? :confused:

The changing of Life is Life to the Pats song has been a big source of griping for the group that I sit with. Personally as long as they keep No Rain I'm happy.

Interested to see what they come up with Saturday...I suggested they play the highlights on the tron while the mascots are out in the dark with the booming music in the back...I mean you can't just abruptly change it like that. And yes I know it's not affecting play but it is affecting my 'fan experience'. ha!

ps I don't recall 'no rain' out there at all?? Was waiting for it. They used "Live is Life" or whatever it is :confused: at the end of the game. Agree...'no rain' IS the ending song gosh darnit. harrumph!!!!:mad:

And many others. Tradition - Pride - Excellence. Even through blue tinted glasses, the U misses the first one too often. Black Betty. Two mascots. Logo. Maybe the logo was justifiable with legitimate reasons for change outweighing tradition, but there is no need to "Orsillo" things just to be new and different.

For the first time (that I noticed) since the name change, a recent Paul School communication referenced WSBE. Blow back can be costly. Maybe someday UNH seal and T-Hall logo merchandise will again be available?

Would totally agree! They had their cheers down and were very loud during the 5 on 3 which happened to be in their end. Is it Saturday yet??!! :D
