Re: UNH Wildcats 2015-2016 (Part One) - Return of the "Champions of December"??

Great, but he's got nothing to do with college hockey or UNH, other than his son breaking a commitment.

Well, not quite true regarding UNH in general, as his daughter played lax here, but I agree there is no reason for him to drop the puck at hockey.

100% wrong on Bourque. There is only one Bobby Orr, on and off the ice but RB is a hell of a guy and great with fans, charities and with how he deals with everyone. Father, husband on and on. One of the most loyal stand up friends that ever walked the face of the earth. Great teammate as well. Have known for over 20 years and have watched stand in line at Dublin donuts like everyone else, watched talk for half hour with kitchen staff at charity events
Many jack *** ex players slinking around, he isn't one of them

I wasn't wrong. I know what I experienced. No reason to make it up.

Great, but he's got nothing to do with college hockey or UNH, other than his son breaking a commitment. Son was free to break commitment for a professional opportunity [not sure that decision panned out, but with Ray's money the kid could take that risk]. But since the kid did stiff Dick Umile, encouraged by his dad, there's absolutely no reason to invite him. Family made a mockery of education.

Well, the kid's dad did make millions in his 20+ year career by skipping any advanced education, and starring in the NHL at age 18, all while wrapping his head around the challenges of ESL. You can almost see why the old man didn't play up education too highly with his kids. Unfortunately, neither of the kids had their dad's talent, and probably will wish they'd gotten their degrees when in a few years, they're those guys behind the counter at Dunkin's - unless their trust funds save them from that ironic fate.

Just sayin' ... :D

Anybody at the Exhibition game wanna meet up I'll be at the picture between 102 and 103 between the fist and second periods would love to see you!!! Go 'Cats!!

Masonious played on UConn's second pair in a 3-1 win over a Queen's College club that featured Eric Chevrier...

Wow, Eric Chevrier; I had forgotten that name. Arrived at UNH in September 2011 with TvR and Ryan Randall, behind Kipp (Sr), Hardowa and Kostolansky (Jr's), and Knodel and Agosta (So's), so only TvR played, and in December Chevrier left for BCHL. If he had stayed as red shirt, he could be playing in Durham this season? Maybe first D pair with Pesce, if he had stayed? I guess the de-commits still bug me more.

Starters for tonight's exhibition: MacDonald/Smith/Gaudreault/Cleland/Furgele/Tirone

A terrible video feed from UNHWildcats.com - poor picture and even worse sound currently...

No Nazarian in the line-up. Per usual, a crappy video feed from UNHWildcats.com - poor picture and even worse sound currently - a waste of 9.95...

Yeah, I'm getting an awful video feed as well. I watched the women's game online on Friday and it was fine. Not sure what is going on here.

The video feed is working for me now. What about you, Dan?

Re: UNH Wildcats 2015-2016 (Part One) - Return of the "Champions of December"??

Got to my season ticker seats to find that my view of the goalie is completely obstructed by a standing camera guy. There was someone there previousy who sat and was unobstructive, but that is not the case this game. Very disappointed, will likely decrease my attendance. Thankful for the video board as I have not been able to see any plays made by Hope or on the boards.

Hoping to read some reports from those in attendance today/tonight.

All I glean from the starting line-up (other than business as usual) is the pairing of Furgele with Cleland.

Nice that Coach Umile ensured his fourth liners would get a start at some point this season. :D

Cleland was virtual "no-show" through most of the game. But at least he did manage to score the insurance goal in the waning moments of the third period.

I liked the Quast/Marks pairing. Quast especially looked much better than we had seen from him in the past, especially on the PP. Tirone was "OK", though he did not get a huge ton of help especially in the second period when the X-Men scored back to back goals and take a 4-1 lead. Clark played in the third and stopped all six shots that he faced, but by that time, the X-Men were clearly getting worn out when the 'Cat's came flying out in the third. Of the frosh, saw a lot of Vela and was impressed with his hustle (3 assists).

Considering that this was essentially just "Day 2" of practice, not much negative or positive to take from today's exhibition other than it looks like the sophomore class is going to really step it up this season.

Well it was an up and down kind of game very physical and we got the worst of it penalty wise. Two back to back within 25 second goals didn't help either! Personally felt the officiating left a lot to be desired but what do I know haha.

Third period was much better getting a goal off a 5 on 3 situatiin then a few more to seal the deal. Tirone had a rough night on his glove side (hubby's opinion) and two of the goals were not going to be stopped by anyone (again hubby's opinion and he has a good eye for that stuff) Seemed he was facing a lot of uncontested shots as well... Clark had a couple of good saves as he played the third.

Newcomer Vela looked good out there I thought...as well as Ara Nazarian. The Kelleher / Pots combo did some amazing things. And Capt CMacD played very well along with Eiserman and Correalle. Got to give Jamie Hill some credit for hustling and making some great passes. He's never afraid to mix it up out there!!

D wise...well they did account for three goals and it was great to see Ritchie Boyd get the first of the season. Thought Dylan Maller did a decent job. Both ends of the ice will surely benefit from the practices coming this week...

All in all thought we played a great third and things look promising! Now...anyone out there with more hockey sense than me feel free to have at it but that's the way I saw things!! ☺️😉
