Safe yet uninspiring choice IMO. Probably not unlike a similar hire of a relatively unknown assistant coach returning to his alma mater at Durham from another HE school a quarter century ago. Not my first choice ... but no one asked me. :D Good luck, Coach Stewart.

Throw in Marsh, Anzalone and Burke, and that's really an impressive coaching/scouting legacy that Coach Holt left behind.

Coach Umile can say he's exceeded Coach Holt in wins, titles, tourney appearances, etc. but he's got some catching up to do before he can claim to have a comparable "coaching tree". Granted, folks like Stewart, Foley, Ayers, Souza, White and Ciocco are still relatively young, but nearly all of them have been out of school for at least a decade (Stewart now two decades), and none has landed a college head coaching gig yet. Time will tell if those folks will progress as McShane, Marsh, Anzalone and (yes) Umile did at this level.

FWIW ... Juston McKinney is/was also a main contributor to a series of short web sitcoms entitled "Hosed", which are/were intended to either be the basis for a movie or TV sitcom. Lenny Clarke is/was part of the project. Its characters are volunteer firemen who work in the fictional community of Effingwoods NH. If you are interested in checking the episodes out, there are several backdrops and locales which are located within a short walk of the mythical WIS Estate, plus some other subtle local touches. Enjoy!! :) :D :)

Excepting McNicholas at 5' 10", 175 lbs., the freshman forwards average 6', 190+ lbs. Looking forward to "finishes his checks".

If I'm DeSmith, I am more worried about Coach Umile than AD Scarano, maybe even the legal system.
