Hey, he backed out of his commitment to UNH. Why the bitterness???
Tough loss by the 'Cats, but they had some great scoring chances.
And, he did rebound tonight; played a great game in net, and should have won.
can anyone tell me that BC was not in control of this game for about 58 of the game's 60 minutes?
* It looks like UNH had 5 power plays, and BC only had 1. Not sure when those came, but obviously it didn't help UNH get the "W" but probably helped boost their SOG's to some degree.
Finally ... further on the issue of "complacency", it was noted in the USCHO game recap (well done BTW) that the game was delayed for a few minutes due to the late arrival of the UNH team bus. Really???![]()
How does that happen? I mean, traffic in and around Boston, shocking, you never see that coming.
"Don't worry boys - they can't start the game without us."
Putting aside the sarcasm, that's downright embarrassing for a so-called elite D-1 program in the best conference in the country. If those travel demands are too onerous, we can always try to schedule in St. Anselm's and Plymouth State next season.
OK I'll bite. Why "should (he) have won"? I mean, other than UNH seems to have that SOG thingie down cold??
Anyone want to talk about the very basic defensive error (BTW not DeSmith's doing) that led to BC's game-winner?
Nothing fatal this weekend, but nothing terribly assuring about this UNH team's post-seasnn prospects either. Happy Holidays all!!![]()

BC was NOT in control of that game for 58 of the 60 minutes on Friday. They had 1 SOG through the first 14 minutes. Of course it was a goal.
BC did NOT have a single powerplay this weekend.
What's strange about that? UNH takes a shot on net after the whistle and BC gets 2 penalties. UNH PP.you obviously know your stuff but , yes, I can tell you BC was NOT in control for 58 of 60 minutes. I actually think UNH carried the play for about 50 of the 60 minutes. Very strange game indeed.................BC did not have a PP in that game (and none last night either BTW) another strange stat this weekend
Like others have written, UNH needs some finishers. That was not John Muse or Cory Schneider in net for the Eagles this past weekend.
What's strange about that? UNH takes a shot on net after the whistle and BC gets 2 penalties. UNH PP.
Gaudreau beats TvR, going in all alone on breakaway, is hooked to the ice... JG called for embellishment, negating a BC PP.
You can't make this chit up... it's par for the course for BC and Hockey East refs.
I'm not quite sure which is LESS shocking ...
* a BC player guilty of diving/embellishment, or
* a HE official "reffing the score"
It's kind of like complaining about how the sun is always rising in the east, no??![]()
On a play like that it looked obvious that JG is tripped on a potential break in and then to say it is embellishment is wrong unless you can see evidence of it. I know there are good acting jobs to sell it but how can you tell on that particular play ??? You can't. Either call it a trip or don't, but don't call both.
