Her younger sister is very into hockey, but is also busy diversifying her interests, as is normal for a fourth grader;)

I think I heard about her some time back from a friend at work (that she was being recruited, not that she had committed).

Does she also have a sister that plays, but isn't focused primarily on hockey? My buddy mentioned that younger sis is hugely talented, but primary interests lie elsewhere atm.

A huge fan of Sam Faber ('09) Miss Morgan White sports Faber's number 28 as she takes on the Squirts of the Seacoast area.

Like I said, I must be thinking of somebody else. Said buddy, who played hockey, mentioned being amazed and jealous at how the younger sibling "carved up the ice." I don't think he was referring to a fourth grader, although I suppose it is possible.

A good win Tuesday against Union. Not having seen the game, I can't speculate as to how the lay off affected them either up or down, but I sure am looking forward to the trip to CT to see some games!

Way to shoot Mams!

It was a sloppy game but a nice win for the Cats nonetheless. The Cats played well protecting the puck and cycling down low. Their puck distribution lacked polish and dzone coverage was a little loose. The D weren't moving the puck efficiently and puck movement through the neutral zone was ugly. They were obviously a little rusty given the long layoff but I am sure they will be ready for the weekend.

Thanks! I'm ready now!

Congrats to Ti on career goal #50! Only 3 assists away from 50 as well. And congrats to Kristine on goal 25 - she'd probably be at 50 also if it weren't for playing half her career on defense...anything to help the team. Way to go Cats - keep it up, let's win 2 this weekend...heck, let's win 1 first since game 1 isn't over yet. ;)

Re: UNH WildcatS 2012-'13: The Dawn of New Prominence

HUGE Battle for third place in the HE standings between UNH, PC, UV, and NE. Nice to see the Cats in the mix and pushing their way up the ladder. Two key HE games today that could start some separation. Let's hope the Cats can keep up the pressure and get another win against the Huskies!

Re: UNH WildcatS 2012-'13: The Dawn of New Prominence

2-0 midway through the second. Carlson (Horn and Crossley) and Lavoie (O'Neill and Carlson) with goals.

Re: UNH WildcatS 2012-'13: The Dawn of New Prominence

Two wins on the weekend and a tie for third in the standings with a team that the Cats play on Thursday. NU @ UNH this week - Go Cats Go! I guess at this point, with all games being conference games, they are all important!

Re: UNH WildcatS 2012-'13: The Dawn of New Prominence

According to a press release on Northeastern's website, Goaltender Jenn Gilligan shares Defender of the Week honors with Maine's Brittany Ott. Formal details to follow, but Gilly went 3-0 on the week, backstopping the 'Cats in league play to a tie for 3rd with this Thursday's opponent, Northeastern. Great job Gilly and all the 'Cats!

It's Official!

It's Official!

Gilligan Named Hockey East co-Defensive Player of Week; Women's Hockey Named HEA Team of Week

DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore goaltender Jenn Gilligan (Maple Ridge, British Columbia) of the University of New Hampshire women's hockey team was named the Hockey East co-Defensive Player of the Week and the Wildcats women's hockey team was tabbed as the HEA Team of the Week in Monday's announcement by the league office.

Gilligan went 3-0-0 with a 1.00 goals against average for the week ending Jan. 20, which culminated in the netminder's first shutout of the season in Sunday's 2-0 win at Connecticut. Gilligan, who also registered a 3-1 victory at UConn on Jan. 19 and a 4-2 triumph at Union College on Jan. 15, made 58 saves in the three road wins for a .952 save percentage. For the season, Gilligan is 7-1-1 in 10 starts with a 1.86 GAA and a .924 save percentage. Maine's Brittany Ott shared the co-Defensive Player of the Week award with Gilligan.

The Wildcats earned the Team of the Week honor after sweeping their first three games back from the semester break, highlighted by the weekend sweep against the Huskies. With the three straight road wins, UNH improved to 10-11-2 on the season and 6-4-1 in conference play, which is good for 13 points and a tie for third place with Northeastern in the league standings.

UNH returns to the Whittemore Center for the first time since Dec. 8 when it plays host to Northeastern on Thursday, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m. in the annual Skating Strides Against Breast Cancer game. Fans wearing pink can purchase tickets for just $3, and there will be a raffle for one of two autographed pink game jerseys, with proceeds going to raise money for breast cancer awareness. Re: It's Official!

Hopefully the past week is a sign that O'Neill is going produce more the second half. Seems that she's struggled a bit offensively since a promising rookie campaign.

Like to see Lascelle get back to last years form as well.

Re: It's Official!

I plan on heading up to Lake Whit again this Thursday hoping for a similar result to last time. (and the only other time I have been up there)

I assume DC will be there who else?

Re: UNH WildcatS 2012-'13: The Dawn of New Prominence

I'll be there along with my partners in crime...Lancer and Henri. I'll bet my next paycheck that Hux will be taking photos and Zoofer will be exchanging pleasantries with the officiating crew. ;)
