UNH @ Miami

Re: UNH @ Miami

Just a bad penalty or a Danny Dries bad penalty? The most enjoyable part of last season for me as a UNH fan was not having to endure seeing that clown on the ice.

Actually a bit of both.. but just plain old dumb.

Re: UNH @ Miami

There's the back-breaker. Oh well...still not as bad as either of the Wisconsin games last year.

Re: UNH @ Miami

Miami scores, 117 left in the third, 5 to 3 now.

Sounds like / reads like UNH hung tough for most of the game. Sounds like DiGi played much better tonight; true, gave up 5 goals, but much better numbers overall.

Re: UNH @ Miami

Hopefully UNH plays a little better tomorrow - would like to see them get an OOC win a little earlier this year than last.

It's bizarre to hear Army's name and think that it's the coach's son and not the coach skating around.
Are you sure? Maybe the past couple of years have finally gotten to him...

And the 5th goal was a water bottle popper just under the bar.... unstoppable. 5 in and 5 DiGi never had a chance on. UNH's D just not good at times tonight. Left him out to dry.

Re: UNH @ Miami

Not supported on my Droid2:

Signing off, back on tomorrow. Maybe the 'Cats can get a little closer to a W, as Miami scores an empty netter, making it 6-3. Score doesn't indicate level of play.

I'm pleasantly surprised with the effort tonight. Playing in Miami and after not being able to win their ex game I wasn't holding out much hope. I agree with you though, it would be nice to get the split and not have to wait till January to get our first OOC win.

it hit digiralamo in the arm/elbow and redirected up under the bar... wasn't exactly unstoppable...

Re: UNH @ Miami

Why did Umile pull the goalie??? Down 2 with 45 seconds to go? Come on, Dick... game is over. Why just give them a 6th goal???

My only issue with all the "DiGi had no chance" is that it looks like he's not even seeing the puck. At least three went high glove side, but it looked like he was expecting the shot to hit him in the midsection.

Yes, the D looked like pylons on many of the goals, and maybe they were laser beams, but it looked like he just wasn't seeing them at all. I'd feel better if he'd just whiffed on the shots.

And hey, I could be seeing this entirely wrong, just my take.

Really?? Looked like a helluva shot to me... and of course the UNH D putting up a nifty screen as he was backed right up to the top of the crease and giving Hirschfeld all sorts of room to get off a good shot.

Edit: Just rewound the DVR and watched this about 5 times... it did NOT hit DiGi's arm at all... it cleared it by at least 6 inches over his shoulder. And the screen by the UNH D was pretty bad, but at least DiGi saw the shot leave Hirschfeld's stick. Go back and watch it again. The kid had about a 8" x 8" area to shoot at and he hit it. Give him credit. It WAS an excellent shot.

Stranger things have happened. And it's not like it's the Champions League where we have to make up the goal differential in the second leg. :D
