UNH @ Miami

Re: UNH @ Miami

Stranger things have happened. And it's not like it's the Champions League where we have to make up the goal differential in the second leg. :D

I guess.. but it is deflating. I don't know... 6-3 is just worse... even if the 6th goal wasn't earned.

Re: UNH @ Miami

FYI popped open a Leinie's Sunset Wheat after getting in. And... on that note, dead tired and more to do tomorrow. Goodnight, all!

Re: UNH @ Miami

Really?? Looked like a helluva shot to me... and of course the UNH D putting up a nifty screen as he was backed right up to the top of the crease and giving Hirschfeld all sorts of room to get off a good shot.

Edit: Just rewound the DVR and watched this about 5 times... it did NOT hit DiGi's arm at all... it cleared it by at least 6 inches over his shoulder. And the screen by the UNH D was pretty bad, but at least DiGi saw the shot leave Hirschfeld's stick. Go back and watch it again. The kid had about a 8" x 8" area to shoot at and he hit it. Give him credit. It WAS an excellent shot.

i watched it a few times too and it looked to me like it hit his arm as he raised his blocker and directed up and back towards the near post... it looked to me like you could see his the arm of his jersey move as it hit him... end of the day, not much he could do one way or the other, point blank on the power play on a pass fro below the goal line...

in other news, minny up 4-2 on umass

Re: UNH @ Miami

Miami tie it up at 4:06 of the second. Goal by Vaive. 1-1.

You spelled his name wrong ;)

Re: UNH @ Miami

Well I spelled it right, I fonted it wrong :)

Well hopefully you know better tomorrow :p

Seriously though, man, that kid had a lot of hype coming into Oxford (son of Rick Vaive, former Leafs captain, first player for TML to score 50 goals in a season), and he seemed to play pretty soft for his size for the first few years. Tonight was his breakout game, he looked pretty **** good out there sans a couple lapses (Sislo goal). Hopefully tomorrow night McKenzie and Smith get back in the play, they had pretty good freshmen years and would add some more firepower to the lineup.

I was wondering if it was Vaive's son (or nephew or whatever). Man I'm starting to feel old. I remember watching Rick Vaive when I was a kid. I was listening to the CC-RPI game afterwards and CC has a kid named Krushelnyski. I watched his dad play for the Oilers.
