Tim Stutzle (who?) looked awesome with PPG in Senators 3-2 shoot out win against Bruins in Ottawa tonight.

You do realize he wasn’t ever coming….but every time I watch him I too think about the “what ifs”…If he did come it would have been for one season ala Eichel (not saying we would have gone to the big dance) but things would have been pretty interesting!!

Ps Despite swaymans great night I knew they would lose in OT

Saratoga about a half hour away is pretty interesting
nice downtown- could even go tob baths

Really appreciate the suggestion! Sounds more fun than a grave yard (ahem, Chuck). I already looked up the area and think a visit to the Saratoga state park might be in order if its open. The weather looks pretty rainy tho so we'll see. Would love to go to the baths but think Mr. HR would skip that haha.

Just remember to put your money on Lucky Dan to place, NOT to win. ……. Oops, that is the third race at Riverside in Kansas City, not Saratoga.

Hey, lookit, I was only trying to help 'Ref!! I think the big giveaway here is you have to go a half hour away from Schenectady to find some decent things to do. But if you wanna stick around, it looks like there's other stuff to see ...

Schenectady lawmakers struggle for solutions to chronic quality-of-life issues (timesunion.com)

More Schenectady eyesore properties to be leveled (timesunion.com)

"So far, Schenectady in partnership with the Capital Region Land Bank and Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority have knocked down more than 200 blighted properties."

There are actually some decent suggestions in this following rebuttal listing, but when #1 is Union College, and #10 is the local casino, you have been warned to set your expectations accordingly. Have fun!!

well don't think your suggestions will go in vain! I'm sure we will find something to do...even if it does mean driving a bit to do it! Will be curious how UNH handles Mesa rink; very smallish as I remember (nothing personal Union fans) as I recall? And of course those ECAC refs hahaha

I'm sure both teams will be a bit rusty from the time off...go 'Cats!

Sounds like something out of the movie 'Seabiscuit'....I'll keep this in mind if we bet on any horse races...Oh! Just dawned on me...straight outta 'The Sting'....

Well, it's finally GAME DAY!! Wondering if the 4:00 p.m. starting time has anything to do with "public safety" issues out and around the arena on the mean streets of Schenectady?

After doing some additional research, it's clear that the early start has to do with capitalizing on remaining sunlight. And 'Ref, you weren't kidding, the rink is definitely on the small side for D-1 play ... ;-)

Haha you had me going for a minute regarding the rink! Checks notes still playing at Messa...Looking at Union seems they are similar to us..they've won a few more games...lost to the teams you'd expect them to lose to..beat the teams they should. Looks like one upset beating NU..

They have put up a few more goals and have won more at home than we have so I suspect they will have home ice advantage.

HR's predicts:

FRI: Union 3 UNH 2
SAT: UNH 2 Union 1

Schenectady is nothing to write home about but the capital district has many other towns and cities. Albany or Saratoga Springs are worth checking out and have some very good restaurants. Some traffic on I-90/I-87 could be an issue in the evenings actually going to Schenectady but not all that likely.

Defensive mishap leads to Union goal
..but same breakout play down the left seems to be constant. Frenetic for both teams. Gotta solve that goalie shooting right at him. LeClerc with some decent opps.

Overall we are hustling and fwiw dept outshooting them 15 to 5 but as we know SOG's dont matter for squat when you're behind. Stewie not behind the bench.

Glad to hear game is streaming when we arrived UNh radio guys weren't sure what they were gonna do as the internet was down here.

New score board since I was here last in 2014...interesting to see the banners depicting Unions run to their NC...quite the powerhouse under Leaman and then Bennet. Just goes to show you how and where coaching and recruiting the right players leads to...

Anyway its a fast.paced affair at Messa let's see if we can get something going.

Glad to see they are still using the same strategy of shooing from the point over and over with no traffic in front, it has worked o so well till this point this year
